Remember when CLM was humorously noted as having a pact w the Devil b/c of all the incredibly "good" things happening to the LSU football program:
Winning BCS title in 2007, beating 'Bama consistently (w Saban in charge), etc. Seemed like he could do no wrong.....

Fast forward a few years and we have Nick the Prick running the show winning consecutive BCS titles, racking up #1 recruiting classes, and getting every conceivable break in the provrebial book on his way to national titles left and right. Now Saban is head of the class and standing on top of the mountain like no one has done before him. Is the tide about to change in Miles favor again? I believe so....

Miles has an experienced and talented senior QB entering the season, had yet another talented and great recruiting haul, and added pro-talent offensive coordinator to go with the Chief on the other side of the ball. Also, everyone is expecting Ala. to blast through their SEC scheduled and represent again in BCS title game. Not so fast my friends.....

LSU is still the team to beat and finally with an offensive game plan hopefully sprinkled with surprise/unconventional calls every game the Tigers will again be the best of the best in 2013.

The tide is turning. Geaux Tigers!

Not true, Alabama is the team to beat.

That said, solid post.

yo doc, i need a nurse after reading that.

i'm optimistic too with regards to a steady defense being complimented by what i/we hope is a good offense. should be interesting.

LSU has to beat Bama. Bama has proven that even with a loss to LSU or Texas A&M and they can still be in the national championship.

So Bama is the team to beat. Bama's schedule and media love promotes them while LSU has a pretty tough schedule.

I agree with almost everything except this
quote:

Also, everyone is expecting Ala. to blast through their SEC scheduled and represent again in BCS title game.

They might be favored to win every game, but the west is getting stronger and stronger. It'll be a very interesting season to say the least.

Too many erroneous, illogical statements in the original post to even enumerate.

In the national press that is not the case because LSU has not earned that spot yet. I do agree with you though. I feel very good about this team coming into the Fall.
One thing I hate to see however is posters on here beatin that drum like a barroom drunk because it makes them feel good. I am quite content to sit back and and take em by surprise...

It's baseball season. It's so refreshing. When I start thinking LSU football, my head starts to hurt.

Solid post nonetheless

I think the Cameron hire may get LSU over the hump. The difference between LSU and Bama was already very small, and this hire will be just enough for LSU to move ahead of Bama again.

So normally I would not post this even if I did think it.. However in this case I am going to make an exception...

Everyone is wrong... Neither Bama nor LSU is the team to beat... Bama is the team to beat twice...

This is the new SEC world we live in...

When I think bout LSU football I think how freaking amazing it's been for me to have been a part, as a fan, the greatest period in LSU history and one of the best in college football from 03 to now.

The tide will turn. Definitely not discounting Saban's coaching and recruiting he's had some good fortune and to his credit capitalized on it. Obviously its tough being not only in the same conference as Bama but the same division at that. LSU is the only team to consistently challenge Bama during this recent run. As much as I hate to admit it (since I work with a bunch of them and hate them the most next to Bama) the Faggies will be a big player IMO until Texas replaces Mack. Once that happens I think they will drop off some.

Or maybe Les is a top 5 coach but Saban is the best coach in the country. That's why Les is doing good but Saban is winning 3 of 4 National Titles. That's no disrespect to Les. He is a damn good coach. He is in the right place but the wrong time in history.

... into a decent baseball program, but for some reason the morons in some polls keep putting them behind Ole Miss. Go figure.
