They rushed the field because Tennessee did it the week before and they wanted to post an interesting Instagram/tik tok story. It had nothing to do with the opponent.

Good post. It’s easy to forget also that this game was the biggest victory the vast majority of the student population has been a part of at LSU. The seniors now were freshmen in 2019 and the sophomores and juniors who came to LSU to experience great football hadn’t gotten the opportunity to see it until yesterday.

Perception matters that the environment is fun.
Recruits are 17 and 18 year old kids.
They see that scene at the end and say that’s something I want to be a part of.
Students see that scene at the end and say I can’t get that streaming on my phone and show up and make noise.
The only place where this is a “negative” perception wise is on message boards by people trying to act cool and tough.
Everyone else sees it as fun

Some of the funnest memories I have in tiger stadium was watching the goal posts come down vs Florida. Rushing the field in 2001 after clinching vs Auburn and on and on.

I got to throw the football with my 10 year old on the field, he’ll never forget that. It was a defining win for a new regime and fun, except for get off my lawn people I guess, who don’t know how to be happy

I have to respectfully disagree. And I do mean respectfully as you are one my my favorite posters on TD.
It didn’t matter who we played, other than the fact is was a tangled SEC opponent. What mattered was how we won. It could have been any other ranked SEC team. Had nothing to do with Ole Miss specifically.
