There are days I hate Les but for the most part I love him and I wouldn't take ANY other coach over him!

For all the goofy crap that drives me nuts about Les, I still love him being LSU's coach. He has honor and integrity that most do not(Sabin) and he is definitely genuine. I'd be proud to have him coach my son one day hopefully. Here's to Les Miles...

Did u just include Miles in the same breath as Billie B?

Miles gets a lot of pub, good and bad. Either way LSU is seen by millions that tune into espn. Dont recall saban being all over tv and radio shows when he was coach.
Les has brought exposure LSU has never had before. He is also responsible for bringing in almost $50 mil a year to the program and school. Not to mention the community that thrives during football season.

Agreed and lest we forget and I know close only counts in hand grenades and horseshoes but Les is only a late fourth quarter fourth down conversion away from beating "The unbeatable" Nick Saban 3 out of the last 4 times they have locked up. I know Nick beat him soundly in the NC game (Thanks again for that JJ) and Les couldnt quite close the deal this past season but what other college coach in America has beaten Lord Saban twice in a row and has been on the verge of beating him 3 out of 4?
Dont agree with everything he does but I do love the guy. As for this past year injuries and losing players happens but losing 3/5 of the opening day O-Line and the loss of Tyran and some others in the offseason sure gave him a short deck to play with and overall he did a pretty darn good job especially when factoring in a decimated Oline and the players lost to grades and other reasons.

quote:What kind of retarded thinking is it that believes just because one coach leaves we would have to suck after that? This is one of the many stupid comments made on here. More than likely we would get an even better coach and keep rolling.
It's going to be awful when he leaves/retires and LSU stumbles back.

It's sad we have so many folks on here that want him gone
Anyone wanting a HC who is 85-21 49-19 with 7 teams nationally ranked at #1, #2, #3, #5,#8, #12, and #17 "gone" so we can enter a pot luck search for another HC who might better the above results is college/SEC football mentally challenged.
In 1980 these were the type folks pissing on the back of Mac and his 137-59 18 yr record.
20 yrs later with an SEC record of 33-35 and an overall record of 124-99, we had a real reason to whine and cry like 2 yr olds.

the list of college coaches that have had a better winning percentage than miles during his tenure is a VERY VERY short list.
to think that we could easily get a coach better than miles is a pipe dream.

Well thought out and written. Something extremely rare on this board.

I don't give a frick if he is a great guy. I want to win games when we have every opportunity in the world to win them. I want a guy that can manage the damn game clock and his time outs. For 4.3 million dollars, I don't think we are asking too much.

Les is a great man.
We'll see how things go Wednesday.
just kidding!
