While I agree it will be a sad day when he and LSU part ways for whatever reason you are WAY over reaching when you say people across America became fans of football because of his "coaching style". Especially the last 3 or 4 years his coaching style had been ANYTHING but watchable.

Nice post.
According to a lot of the arguments, the only two that can coach at LSU right now are Nick Saban and John Harbaugh, everyone else is a loser.

I agree. He reminds me of Coach Bryant without the drinking problem. I bet he would be a great friend if you were in his circle.

I like Les but sometimes he simply dives me crazy with his offense calls & clock management!

JMO... I wont shed any tears when he leaves.
Now, if he suddenly hired somebody to run the offense and he got out of the way, thats a different story. Until then, he is nothing more than a average to above average coach.

Very nice post. I agree 100%. It's sad we have so many folks on here that want him gone. It's going to be awful when he leaves/retires and LSU stumbles back. I would say "told ya so" to this current crop of fans, but they won't be around. The vast majority of them follow LSU when they're winning but will find other things to do on their Saturdays when we're consistently 9-4.
We'll be 9-4 this season...and last year we were 10-3...so doesn't that mean that we're kinda already there?
First I read this...
Then I read this...
I won't miss him. He is Bob Stoops, Phil Fulmer, Tommy Tuberville...on that level. Good coach, but its not like there aren't better ones.
I for one will not miss his antics. Pumpers look at him speak (like after the Ole Miss game) and carry on and see funny, charisma, charm...I see goofiness, immaturity, clownishness.

I like Les and think he is one of the best recruiters in the nation, but I think his stubborness has held us back from being the best team that we could be. The biggest misconceptions on the board:
1. If you don't think Les is the best coach in America, then you don't love LSU. LSU is the program, Les is just the coach. One can stink it up and leave, one is here to stay.
2. If Les left today, there is no other coach who can win as many or more games that Les. It is stupid as fck to think that LSU would fall off the earth when Les leaves.
3. Great recruiter=great coach. I don't think anyone has denied he is a great recruiter, but what most fans criticize him for is his in-game management, clock management, and shtty offenses each of the last 5 years. No matter how you look at it, Les is a good coach, but definitely not great folks. He is a great man.
When he fields a better offense to match Chief's defense, then we will dominate like we should instead of barely getting by.
4. Just because he has won a lot of games he is the best coach in the country. What his critics are trying to say is that his record would have/should have been better if it were not for his lack of game management, clock management, and timely changes when needed like changes to the offense.
5. Les will always be a good/great coach; Les has no expiration date. Sorry folks but Les is not immortal as far as coaching skills. He too can lose a step. Les has a lot of Trent Johnsoness going right now. Started off hot, but won't make any changes because he had success doing it his way one year. Most fans want to root for him, but he needs to make changes asap.

I know going undefeated and winning the SEC just a year ago is just unwatchable. What a dipshit.
