Read the article. And if you think Miles or his agent will now try to leverage the Mizzou and USEe coaching vacancies for an extension after coming a count's hair from getting fired, then you're s special kind of stupid. The author of the article thinks it's a credible scenario, which makes it a worthless hit piece. It's trash. If he had one credible "source" to put in quotes, I'd have believed some of

No shite. I bet they'd love for that to happen. If Miles pulls that then you can call his bluff and "poof", NO BUYOUT!

I believe every word of that, and it is ABSOLUTELY outrageous. This fricking state can make you crazy sometimes.

The problem:
quote:

Something went wrong with the Fisher deal Friday or Saturday. Saturday Fisher was reported to have told the president at Florida State that he was staying and had no interest in any other jobs.

3 days earlier, Jimbo says this:

He doesn't say he isn't leaving....he could be lying, but it doesn't sound like it

And FSU says Jimbo met with the President and said he wasn't leaving sometime during the week, which nullifies any Saturday decision.

Look, I agree that the Hayride is less than credible, and, I don't agree w/ everything stated in the article. But I think the bottom line premise of the article rings true.

And if Miles/his agent tries to leverage more money/an extension based on Missouri and So. Carolina openings, I would laugh in their faces. At that point, you go hire Tom Herman, or Chip Kelly, or Kirby Smart.

I remember the 90s, and Louisiana politicians ruined LSU football. Mark Emmert changed that in 1999.

Welcome back to the 90s!!!!

Sounds like it's based on the same "sources" that everything else has been. I call bs.

If it's true then the other sources were right all along. Deal was done and got mixed at the final hour.

As much as I love LSU football, if this is true I side with Alexander. Although it would have cost LSU nil, to pretend like the wealthy TAF donors have nothing to do with electing the governor and legislature that have cut LSUs funding repeatedly over the past several years is naive...they are largely the same people. I have a problem with people who pay money to get funding to the schools academics cut and then expect us to forget about it when they wanna hire a 7 million dollar coach. If that is their priority they are free to form a professional football team. Although LSU football is a close second, LSUs academics have always been 1st in my head and if you disagree you should examine yhe definition of the word University.

Firing Alexander over not firing a football coach would be the epitome of stupid. He's done a great job for the university especially considering the mess he inherited.

Besides I'd argue that without a doubt the state of the university is significantly more significant than football.

This is LSU in the 1980s. The run is officially over. Back to terrible football teams and an administration that doesn't want to keep up.
