The Perfect Storm?

It's probably just me but I'm starting to get fired up for Nov. 9th. Alabama vs LSU! We should have a bit of a chip on the old shoulder after getting toasted in BCS title game and then basically falling apart in the last 2 minutes of arguably our best 2nd half of football all of last season. Let's check out the variables:

Health: Seems to me this is the healthiest I can recall an LSU football team being heading into bye week. Props to the team and coaches for keeping everyone ready, willing, and able. Ala. lost their most complete defensive player for the season just 2 weeks ago. Advantage: LSU

Motivation: Getting humiliated in BCS title game is still lingering along w meltdown at home late in game last season that basically altered 2 back-to-back BCS titles away from LSU to ALA. Ouch!
Advantage: LSU

Offense: Ala. is a juggernaut offensively by college football standards but so is LSU and the Tigers have the most playmakers at the most skilled positions IMHO. Pretty much a toss up but hey it's the Rant. Advantage: LSU

Defense: Ala. is solid as always. If LSU can find a way to limit 1st down running plays and stop Ala. on 3rd down and limit the TD's we should be good. Kids in back end of defense are still young but getting better and better. I think Chavis sells out and brings this house on more than just a few occassions. We get a few breaks and make some key stops THIS time. It's called law of averages. Advantage (probably NOT).... LSU

Specialty Teams: ODBJr. will bring his A+ game for this one. Cements his All-America status as kickoff and punt returner. Less pulls another one out of the hat w some more foolishness that actually works. Advantage: LSU

Intangible of all intangibles: Not only are LSU fans sick and tired of hearing how dominant Ala. has become but so is the ENTIRE nation - except for those living in Alabama. Karma is what it is and sooner or later Saban has to pay for not only leaving LSU but stealing its prized recruits and beating us the last 2 seasons when it counted the most. It's payback time!
