The same 7 that we've been talking about plus Kentucky. What would a Stanford sweep of Washington State do to improve their numbers over the other candidates?
Not much at all. I'm just not ignoring the committee's bias in putting in 2 west coast teams.
The 7, plus Kentucky would be the 8 best resumes...no doubt. For them to put Stanford as a national seed, either Kentucky will have to lose really soon, or they will have to leave off someone with a better resume.

If LSU wins tonight...i put them as a lock.
If Kentucky wins tonight I put them in over Stanford. That's where I'm currently sitting.

If LSU wins tonight, could we be in contention for a top 4 spot?

Possibly, but that doesn't really matter.

Top 3 will be Oregon State, Florida, UNC.
I would think LSU could work their way into a 4 seed if they would win the SEC Tournament (especially if it includes wins over Kentucky and Florida). Not really all that important though.
Kind of also depends on what Tech, TCU and Louisville do in their tournament as well. LSU may have a top 4 resume when it's all said and done though.

We will finish with a SOS only behind Florida, and possibly Kentucky.
A lot will depend on where we finish RPI wise, but it could climb up some more depending on who we play and who others play.

Maybe maybe not. Remember the committee didn't give the West Coast any host sites at all last year because no one deserved one. They didn't even let a 2 seed like Fullerton host.

Beating Kentucky tonight will likely lock LSU into a National Seed. However, we won't know for sure until Monday during the selection show.

What do 2 west coast national seeds really do? It doesnt help with matching them up with west coast regional hosts. So i dont see the benefit and dont think it will go that way

That's a fair point. Long Beach is going to be the only West Coast regional not hosted by a Pac 12 team

If the committee sees it the way you do then LSU is an absolute lock.
I'm just trying to view this with my purple and gold glasses off.

Here's what I got at the moment... Think UCF may be able to sneak a host site... won their conference and has a better record v RPI Top 50 than Arizona who finished 4th in the Pac 12.
1. Oregon St. -- Long Beach St.
8. Kentucky -- Clemson
4. Louisville -- Arkansas
5. Texas Tech -- Stanford
2. North Carolina -- Southern Miss
7. TCU -- Virginia
3. Florida -- UCF
6. LSU -- Wake Forest

National guys who do this for a living said we were a lock. Even before winning yesterday.

Maybe have Stanford pair with TTU and Arkansas with Louisville... in fact, I may edit that.

Though i think you swap where stanford and virginia are going for location reasons
Posted on 5/25/17 at 5:52 pm to Topwater Trout
The committee doesn't do who gets in based on location. They set the match ups based on the location of the national seeds with the other hosts. Last year they didn't have a regional west of Texas for example..
ETA: Also, for people that think we aren't already a lock or that Stanford or somebody could pass us, we've had the highest attendance for over 20 years. Which means $$ for the ncaa.

Missouri's RPI actually went up after losing last night presumably due to the strength of schedule boost.

Bro, we had the seed locked up before the win last night.
You seem to be one of very few that are refusing to accept it.
Not sure what you are trying to prove...

Why would they pair us with WF instead of USM? LSU-USM and NC-WF makes a lot more sense.
