it is like blood in the water for the sharks the last few days ... i get the impression a lot of the national talking heads have been holding these feelings about les in for the last few seasons and have just been dying to say them ... it is looking like the label "worst coach to ever win a national championship" is going to stick with him for a long time, if not forever ..

Now that this thing has basically gone viral with the media there is virtually no way Les can recover from this. This incident will be with him for the remainder of his career and I think it is just a matter of time before he is gone from LSU.

It's looking pretty bad. But I believe the comments from Mike and Mike last night on ESPN were leaning away from ripping him.

"worst coach to ever win a national championship"

BTW, who are you quoting on this? Just curious who said it or is that what just the consensus from what people are saying?

I don't think he will win another nc, however, how great would it be if he did and at the press conference he said I guess I'm the worst coach to ever win a nc twice. Have a great day.

The bottom line is that, during this weekend, it was literally the most remarkable thing to happen in CFB. It will eventually die down, but it will still be brought up from time to time in the national media.

Hopefully, this will light a fire under Miles. He has to know that he is on the hot seat, and that the national media has no respect for him.

If he can lead another team to an SEC Championship and not have luck be an overriding factor, then he will have the last laugh.

This program is all his now. After this season, there will be NO Saban players on the roster (Charles Alexander is the last one). If he can turn the program around (yes, a potential 10-3 needs to be turned around), he will gain a lot of fans.

He is the worst sec coach to win a NC. I actually think he will do well in the Big Ten. He is out of his league in the SEC

He can overcome this the same Saban overcame the bad press he got when he went to Alabama - be a national winning power. For Saban it was undefeated seasons.

Based on the last 2 1/2 years , who thinks Miles can do that?

I think the point is that the most likely scenario is that Miles isn't going to be fired at the end of the year. If that's the case, then perhaps he needs to understand that, despite his success at LSU, the last 30 seconds of the Ole Miss game will forever be his legacy unless some major changes are made and the team he fields next year shows more fire, more discipline, more technique, etc. along with an improvement in record, BCS standing, and ability to play for the SEC championship.

I dont even know what this means.

Is it like saying you were the "slowest 100m Olympic Champion"

In no way does it mean you are slow, so I dont really understand why this is thrown out there.

Larry Coker went undefeated...Les needed allllllllllll kinds of things to happen to get into the game...with a better coach that team is undefeated and clear cut number one going into that game.

finebaum said it (not much credibility from someone that can identify the taste of nick saban's semen) and heard an espn radio host say it last night on a national talk show too ...

just taking the BCS era into consideration (since 1998) -- who would classify as worse ?

You can't. Still, the problem that I have with this statement is that it should naturally follow that, if Miles was the "worst" coach to win the BCS-CG, then what does that say about all the other coaches that year who didn't even make it to the game?

coker would be the ONLY person that could come into that conversation .. and he ran table in his title year and played for the championship the next season ... yeah, he inherited butch davis' players also .. but you would have to make the argument that he did more with his talent overall that he inherited ..
