I hope Boutte has a successful pro career. If his college performance is any indication, then I have doubts. I do not think JD is a prolific passer, but Boutte had more than his share of dropped passes this year. Most of the time he seemed to be going through the motions. The whole situation is extremely strange. If your decision to return was based on JD leaving, then why wouldn't you wait until he decided. Seems there is more to the story.

Max made him all-American, JD made him invisible.

Yeah, dozens in his ear telling him he's crazy to not take the millions from the NFL this year.

Boutte will be in the league when Daniels has long been forgotten.

It's really quiet a disservice to the players with all the speculation and downgrading of LSU team mates. The main goal is to detract from the coach, and new culture he is trying to implement, by slamming players in action and reaction. It's unfortunate that a place for Tiger fans winds up being a cesspool of trolls and immaturity, but more clicks equal more dollars. Site traffic is what fuels this tepid forum. It's lost its unique and credible place for LSU sports related information and has turned into a gossip column, not unlike TMZ or the National Enquirer. But we love it, don't we?!

We're not missing much. His heart wasn't in it this year.

It seemed to be a little of both. Wasn't like he exactly going all out.

Listen to Jordy this morning. Sounds like it’s academics and some internal issues. Not sure. Didn’t mention much though. Which makes more sense.

Did you not see how often receivers were running around uncovered? Did you not see how many time receivers weren’t through their routes yet and 5 was running?

It’s not that hard to imagine why efforts weren’t what they previously were.

I mean He was a fricking elite player the first 2 years.

I don’t think this season was 100% Daniels, but Boutte is better than this years stats.

Yep. His last 9 games covering the last 3 of 2020 and the 6 games before injury in 2021 he had 1036 yds and 13 TDs.

In 13 games this season he has 538 and 2 TDs.

According to Hanny, he broke an internal team rule and would have faced further discipline next season. So he decided to turn pro. That’s it. This had nothing to do with Jayden returning.

We are deep at receiver. Frees a roster spot for maybe more help on defense in the portal.

Funny, he had a pretty good SEC CG, too. Wonder what the difference was.

I honestly think the “receivers running open” is so exaggerated. Multiple times this is claimed they would replay it and the receivers are blanketed.

Any specific references you are referring to? I know there are people that watch the all-22 film and will back up that he misses a lot of open receivers.

Just watched it, and I really thought there would be more than 2 examples….

First play the throw wasn’t great, but I’ve seen you say All-American receiver, and I’m just not seeing it with that ball that drilled him in the hands.

Second play the tuck and run was bad on JDs part. Pocket was way too clean to take off. Did not see anyone running “wide open” though.
