In 50 some odd years of watching LSU play football, I honestly cannot point to a more impressive offensive showing than what I witnessed last Saturday. I’m sure this isn’t news to anyone out there, but I seriously had to clean my glasses, wipe my eyes, and remind myself that I was looking at an LSU offense put on that show. Yes, LSU, and against a very good highly ranked Texas team in only the second game of the year....Very impressive, not just the talent showcased, but the manner in which it was orchestrated. I just couldn’t help but have real regret that we didn’t have a similar offense in place when talents like Landry and OBJ in particular were here, although don’t get me wrong, I’m delighted to have JJ, Chase, and Marshall. They are very talented as well and wouldn’t trade them for anything.

It’s a pretty exciting time to be a Tiger..... It’s almost as if going through a rebirth into the modern world of college football.

I have been critical of O, especially after the 2017 season. But he has corrected issues in coaching/X’s and O’s, and appears to still be recruiting at a very high level.

I now actually believe he will try to improve every weakness in the program and not sit pat. I’m glad we have a modern offense and I hope we win it all.

Our remaining schedule is not easy, but all but one of the tough games is at home. Let’s get ready to skull frick the SEC

The performance is definitely is high on my list as well. It’s just tough to top this one from Rohan and Josh Reed in 2001.

Not to be a Debbie downer, but I would have like to have seen about 150 yds rushing to with this passing game. We do still have to run the ball if anything to rest defense, but also keep the defense guessing.

The offense was the crippling albatross around the programs neck. Fixing it is a huge accomplishment.

Ed Orgeron fixed the offense. It’s hilarious, insane, ironic and damned impressive all at the same time.

The last time we had a game remotely like this was the 2013 UGA game with Mett, Landry and OBJ

That was the last game where neither team could stop the other

This isn’t your Ole Miss’ Ed O... I think he experienced a rebirth as well. I give him all the props for putting all of this together.

Borrow was amazing, but the running game not so much. That was a Big12 defense that stoned our running game until coaches let Burrow loose. Having to have your passing game set up your running game will not work against a real defense.

How many times have we witnessed opponents loading the box and committing to stop the run because they weren’t threatened by LSU’s passing game?

I don’t care if it’s pass to set up the run or run to set up the pass. The answer is to score points, and score them quickly, and LSU has the weapons to do just that now. CEH is a talented RB. He may not be of the caliber of Guise or LF7, but he’s quite good enough to be a threat to SEC defenses, and most importantly now because we have that passing threat, and aren’t scared to use it, as was on display for all to see this past Saturday. That’s a bulletin board for the entire conference to chew on.

This is only going to help with recruiting and assure the young guys (particularly skill players) they made the right decision coming to LSU and their time is soon.
