The LSU/aTm rivalry. Need some history....

I realize we're going for 6 wins in a row and they've never beaten us since they've been in the SEC.
When is the last time aTm has beaten LSU in football?
Does anyone have knowledge of the rivalry back in the 80s-90s?

We beat them 10 times in a row every year of the 1960's.
Ain't that something?

The real question is why did we only play A&M in baton rouge unless it was a bowl game for like 50 years.

Because they had a high school stadium

I have been going to LSU - A&M games since 1966. I vividly remember the 1970 game when A&M won on a last minute Hail Mary pass to McElroy. I think the reason we used to play in BR every year was because College Station was remote and they did not draw big crowds there back then. Same with Miss. State. It is also why Ole Miss used to play games in Jackson.

the stadium in College Station only held 33,000 in the 60s

Actually, there was a tie in there.

6 in a row is our longest winning streak. 10 in a row not losing in the 60's

Had always been a fun rivalry for me, being from South Texas originally...all of my cousins are aggies or wannabe aggots...they were always UT's whipping boy...and they didn't have much success against us, either...

They did while I was in school.

The '70 game.. our qb, Butch Duhe died the day before the game. Needless to say, left a cloud over team spirits

Thank Huey Long for that.
