IF we field like we did this weekend it might be a long weekend, but I like our pitchers. Hope Poche and Lange are dealing. Our Pen has been money IMO.

LSU went error free the last 2 games, they cleaned up their defense after Texas Southern.

LOL you can spin it however. If we have 5 errors on game 1 butt holes will be puckered.

Spin what? Based on the fielding stats for LSU this year, 5 errors in one game is an anomaly not a trend. That's not spin that's a fact!

And nothing I said wasn't true. If it happens again it will be a long weekend.

You are just trying to pull some "got ya".

We had 5 errors this weekend. Probably because we thought Texas Southern was shite. We didn't respect them.

If that happens again MSU is much better.

Baseball is one of the most up and down sports there is. A team can be down a week and on fire the next. All these crazy arguments gonna jinx our arse

I think this LSU team just believes they can win it all this year. I don't think MS has enough or what it will take to beat LSU. I think we take 2 Sat and Sun and go 5-0 myself. They do not have the pitchers to match LSU period. LSU would have to beat themselves and I don't see that happening. Lange just had his worst performance of the last 3 weeks so that's out of his system. We beat them Saturday then throw Poche on Sunday if Poche is on its game over for MS. LSU is confident unlike some of our fans lol

the 3-0 series at state does not put LSU at a disadvantage
Agreed, but the fact that we swept them does not give us that much of an advantage or indicate that we're so much better that we should win easily.

I think the reason many people feel like having beaten a team recently gives them the advantage on the rematch is based on the experience that the other team actually often wins. This is more likely because it's not easy to get as hyped up and charged to play a team you recently beat. Plus it's baseball.

This regional will be dangerous. MSU will be flying high after surviving the gauntlet and getting a little rest. Plus, they will have revenge on their minds after recently getting swept. LSU is more talented overall and should win, but if they don't come into this series completely primed and on their A game, it could easily be a rough weekend.

Simply put LSU plays better against the higher profile teams. Stony Brook, Houston, Coastal Carolina, etc those are the teams LSU has a hard time with, for whatever reason. I am glad Southern Miss or South Al aren't coming to the Box.

Going 5-0 or 5-1 against another good team is no easy task.

Fortunately all we have to do is go 2-0 or 2-1 against them.

Let's just hope Watson stays on FIRE. I was actually pretty shocked that nearly every team this weekend just said "frick it" and pitched to Deichman. It actually paid off.

No doubt about Watson. I'm a little concerned we went hitless the last four innings after going up 5-0 on Rice.

Technically we didn't have any errors in game 2 but we were far from stout early on. We settled down eventually, but it was far from a fine showing. We played fine against rice though, so you could say we're trending back towards our norm.

I don't think we're at a disadvantage...but my fear lies in A) MSU just won an improbable 4 gsmes in 2 days and are on an emotional high..B) MSU has revenge on their minds after we ruined their final series at their stadium...C) a Super Regional doesn't strain a pitching staff that much..and D) MSU is very familiar with LSU and Alex Box...especially with Cannizzaro at the helm.

This is gonna be anything but a cakewalk

I'm not saying it's going to be a cakewalk but I think we have an advantage.

Good point but what goes up must come down. They could also suffer an emotional let down.

quote:

B) MSU has revenge on their minds after we ruined their final series at their stadium.

They should have been plenty motivated for that series since they were still playing to host a regional and were still in the hunt for the SEC Championship. And they should have wanted revenge on Friday after we took game 1 and even more so on Saturday.

quote:

C) a Super Regional doesn't strain a pitching staff that much.

Depends on how well their starters play. If we can get deep into their bullpen, our odds go way up. Of course that can probably be said for them too.

quote:

D) MSU is very familiar with LSU and Alex Box.

And we're just as familiar with them.

Exactly. The selection show analyst mentioned that LSU is a COMPLETE team.
Now getting all three in sync is the task at hand.
When we do... UNBEATABLE.
