His skillset were not matched for a team like LSU. You saw how guys were passing up open shots to pass him the ball. And he passed on open shots to pass it to someone else. There was no cohesion in which was the knock on him for not being clutch.....like Buddy Heild was.

I was making a point since many here tend to reference that NCST game for their reasoning. I simply gave instances during that game in which the coach had no control over the outcomes.

Yes and I agree nerves play into it in some cases. A lot of these players have gotten by being the best athlete on the floor their whole lives and missing a few fts never really hurt them in hs. If you pay close attention you'll see guys rocking back and leaning of FTs that's coaching and it's an easy fix. If he'd eliminate these simple mistakes plus all of the other simple fundamental issues we have and still lose then yea blame the players. The problem is that's never happened under Jones.

Come on! He runs the program. He recruits, he coaches, he is responsible, and he does an extremely poor job.

It's not a hatefest, it's called poor coaching and unprepared team. I thought Johnny did some great things early on following Trent. He recruited better, he went out and engaged the community.
When you lose the way you did against NC State in the only NCAA appearance it was lack of coaching.
When you tanked it last year with Simmons on the team, declined the NIT, that was bad. I gave him credit for not having Hornsby or Victor, that would have made the difference in making the NCAA tourney.
This year is a glaring lack of talent.

the fans don't understand a few things
1. trent johnson left coach jones a giant mess
2. it takes time at a place like LSU to create a culture and install your system
3. as chinhoyang pointed out in his thread most LSU coaches go .500-.600 at best. we can fire coach jones but that won't fix many of the issues the program has.
