Politicked his way to Zulu King (listen to the story here)

Though Baylor's Robert Griffin III won the Heisman Trophy this weekend, he probably hasn't been the most captivating player in college football this year. That distinction belongs to LSU's Tyrann "Honey Badger" Mathieu, a sophomore defensive back and returner, who finished fifth in the Heisman voting.

If he wants to win the trophy next year, explains Josh Levin, on this week's excerpt from Slate's Hang Up and Listen podcast, Mathieu should take some cues from his father, who campaigned his way to the top of New Orleans' parade circuit.

I wonder how the reporter managed to survive. He obviously had no time to eat or sleep with all of the facts, details and sources he choked his article with.

Also, Zulu is hardly the "top of the New Orleans' parade circuit"

He was, and that's who the article is about.

Maybe not to white folks but it's a big deal in the black community and especially the Creoles of NOLA. Not to mention people that come down for Mardi Gras consider Zulu to be one of the top Mardi Gras traditions. It's only the locals that know Zulu's greatest tradition is always running late.

He is his blood uncle, but obviously, he is his father. As the father of an adopted daughter, I never think of her as anything but my daughter. EVER!
