The Gold/Purple/White shirt debate ...

I have to admit, the white out at Penn State looks frickin awesome. That said, why would anyone be opposed to adding yet ANOTHER level of intimidation to an already imposing Tiger Stadium by everyone wearing Gold? ... For ALL games.
ETA: From the responses in this thread, I think most agree a "purple out" against Georgia could be cool.

I almost think that the "Gold" game last night made the stadium seem emptier then it was.

when everyone wears gold TS looks awesome ... but half of our fan base refuses to wear gold for various reasons ... either they've got a superstition, prefer purple/white, or are just stubborn and want to be different from everyone else. Gold definitely is a color that stands out, though.

one of the things that make the white outs or black outs or whatever so intimidating is the fact that everyone wears it and its all white or black. But that only happens because those are the most liked colors by the schools that have them. And they give all the fans them damn pom poms that are just stupid. A white or purple out would work much better for us as those colors are more well liked and more things are produced in those colors as well. Just dont give pom poms out

It looks empty on TV when everyone wears gold because everyone knows the seats are yellow. I would rather we wear white. why not, the team does. Who cares if penn state does it.

I think it should be all gold all the time, but that's just me. It looks much better on TV.

i'm against the color theme..look what happend to Georgia. the concept is nice and it looks cool, but for some reason. i think that's almost an incentive for the other team to use that to their advantage.

The gold did not look good on TV. It looked like the stadium was empty. Just sayin'.

I agree. I don't like the school, but when Michigan did the "M" in the student section this weekend, that was pretty cool. I'd like to see "LSU" all across the North Endzone, but I'd also like to go to one game where some idiot doesn't bring a beach ball.

I was just thinking the oposite, especially near the end of the game when all the same fans who can't wait to leave start leaving, even in a fairly close game, the gold shirts blended with the empty seats to make it look like more people were there.

Wrong. The gold shirts showed up much more vividly and like I stated above camaflouged the empty seats at the end. Gold is the way to go. Purple would be cool to see one day, but white, would make absolutely no sense. Why are people so infatuated with white? It is a very boring non-color.

It looks good in the stadium, but not as good on TV. White would be better. I think it would be harder to get everyone to wear purple than gold...
