Yeah, they were third and likely would have been in the BCS Championship if not for the LSU game.

I'm hoping the SEC opponents offset this

To look at the upside, we aren't crushing Texas fans hopes week 2 so maybe they'll continue buying merchandise/supporting UT a few weeks longer

So we should play at home first just on the off chance there's a national disaster the second year?

Major college football and the NFL will be a joke this year and I’m afraid it’s permanent. Football as we knew it is gone, play on the field has taken a back seat to politics and virtue signaling.

At this point there will be no crowd Or only a 30 pct crowd for games probably. Probably no bands. Etc.

At that point the financial impact is already taken.

What's about the economic loss of half filled stadiums? Or the possibility of no games at all in the fall?

A little thunderstorm named Katrina changed those plans. .

For a bunch of people that hate Moscona, a lot of y'all were obviously listening to him yesterday.

We got 1.5 mil to go there. They're getting $0 this year if no game.

And I am not downvoting just because its injecting politics into a football board, but also because name calling from either side divides us further. Its tiresome.

And tedious. And annoying.

the Baltimore Ravens just decided to sell 20per cent of their stadium tickets only. season ticket holders will have a lottery and will have ASSIGNED seats.

i think this is the kind of thing we will see.

This season is going to be hit to the local economy regardless with limited seating in the stadium & entertainment venues. A full season of SEC opponents would actually help with the better competition.

The entire season is a loss, economically. Every athletic department will be under for the year, possibly the next 2 years.

Since non-conference games are getting cancelled, would be cool to see them add 4-8 more teams to the playoffs.

Play them in front of empty stadiums if you want. Have top 4 P5 conference champs with best overall records get bye weeks. This year could fast track a larger more logical playoff system
