I normally don't go past page 2 of a thread unless it's interesting enough to hold my attention, so I didn't see this post before I posted pretty much the same thing. Yep, move the little kiddies up there and let em be cool adding profanity to GBFTL songs as the sound drifts off into the ethers unheard.......

I just hate most Greeks. Simple as that. I don't see the honor or prestige in being a Greek.
If you like going around wearing the exact same thing as your friend and speaking like them and basically buying your "friends" then more power to you.

The trend of "banning" particular songs (particuarly those with a storied history at LSU - Tiger Rag) based on student added chants with curse words is pathetic.
If there's a problem with student profanity, start making an example of some of the students screaming the profanities you have a problem with.

You think that filling up the NEZ with non-student seating would still generate just as much noise? We have an example of that already...its called the SEZ. Explain to me why the football team ALWAYS chooses to play in the NEZ in overtime? if the SEZ is just as loud and filled with non-students would it matter? What side of the field was the WVU QB on when he lined up under the guard? If you think that the same amount of noise will be generated with non-students you are insane. Now, I agree that the students need to cut out all that BS and the profanity, but moving them would kill the decibel level in Tiger Stadium.

Also, pretty sure it was the majority of the students, not just the frats or any small group of people.

Seems they could at least give it a shot, making examples of a few offending students and see what happens from there.
It's gotta be a better alternative than the knee jerk 'Ban the songs immediately!' routine.
I saw another suggestion, which said go pull their IDs and ban them from 2-3 subsequent games.

man that sucks. i admit i said dumb sh*t too when i was a student. That's a shame cause that songs is really different from ost songs played by a college marching band. The Arkansas game in 07 was the first time i heard it. I know we lost the game but in that fourth qtr or overtime they played that song and at least half the stadium or more was throwing their hands up. It was sick.

The student section seems to think it's funny to curse with every cheer now. It's like they are in middle school.

they can keep banning songs, it's not like it's hard to incorporate new "dick sucking" verses in new songs. only thing they can do is ban the band.
