Devonte Smith has leapfrogged Chase in projections and it’s well deserved. While GMs may not say on record that they don’t like a kid opting out, kids that played throughout are going to get a nudge.

I get it’s a business decision but my god it sets a bad precedence. The look on the outside looking in is that he quit w 3 games left to play. Point blank period.

We’ve surpassed a point where you skip the bowl game and now can quit at any point in the season?!?

Bad bad look. I get it. But bad look.

He’s a quitter. Label it how you will but that’s it. As far as leaving early issues w/ LSU, they market the frick out of NFLSU which is part of the issue of barely getting draft eligible players to stay. It’s only going to get worse, no doubt about it. That said, TM6 is a quitter in every sense of the word. He won’t care but he’s bout the only tiger in the NFL I won’t pull for.

If Brennan was still playing, TM6 plays out the season. He was vying for the #1WR to be drafted.

Add me to the list of those wondering why Alabama doesn’t have this problem

And if Waddle hadn’t gotten hurt he was on his way too. (Waddle still may pass him. Sounds like he’ll be 100% to work out for the combine and is an athletic freak) I said it before the season Chase wasn’t set in stone as the #1 WR taken and that he could have solidified himself in that spot coming back. But he quit, so he’ll have to hope he doesn’t slip further.

Dude

It’s real simple

You either want LSU to have a good team or you don’t

One major factor to bring about a good team is good players. Marshall is a very good player.

You want LSU to lose

I'm usually one of the first on here to call these guys quitters, but I can't blame Terrace for this. That game last night was a shite show. This season is a shite show. The offense is a huge shite show, and it's not gonna get any better.

While I agree with us not being in his shoes and us not knowing his circumstances. I also agree most, if not all GMs will not think twice about his decision, mostly is because they would drop his arse too as a "business decision"... but that's not how I teach my kids nor how I run my business is all I am saying. I will not applaud it but I will not get into personal attacks either.

I don’t blame Marshall one bit. All you dip shits talking down on him would do the same if you saw the money he could make in the draft versus the money he could make if he tears his ACL next game.

He quit on his team. That’s not a business decision. He quit therefore he’s a quitter. Bad look.

Quit on his team. Money would still be there, even with the low percentage injury.

People who think like you are exactly what is wrong with America and it's wussification. "Business decision" is the new excuse for everyone who wants to quit and still get what they want in life. And when someone calls them out on their selfishness, they want us to "understand" their position.

I understand that in every other walk of life, including my own, you have to earn what you want, and quitting gets you nowhere. You don't get to go halfway, then stop, and say "look how good I am! I'm going to quit now and wait for that next door to open before I get hurt."

Nah... I don't respect that. I couldn't respect myself if I quit. That mentality infects every aspect of life. People get divorced at such high rates now, because they expect perfection from their spouses, aren't willing to work through anything, and just walk away to go make themselves "happy" somewhere else (which rarely ends in a better result). People are more uneducated than ever, because they aren't willing to put in the effort to learn. They just drop out so that they can go play dungeons and dragons.

I just find it incredibly hypocritical how some of you guys find every reason in the book to justify this program "processing" kids, but call the kids a quitter when they "process" the program... just like the coaches think its OK to tell a kid go look somewhere else its not working for you here, when he feels that kid isn't doing well enough to remain on scholarship at that university, that kid has the same right to hold the university accountable when their not operating at the standards they feel they should be playing. Right now Coach O and company are doing a terrible job coaching and the kid decided to leave, if it were the other way around half of you would be saying he's not good enough to be a tiger and telling him good luck in the transfer portal.

“It’s very clear how many people on this board have never made a business decision before.

Good for TM.”

Young people today, I swear. Back in the day, kids like this would not be drafted because he is a quitter. Free agency here we go. Quitting the week before you get to play Alabama on national tv would have been a big old wtf Didn’t have as many teams and the game was larger than the players. You are right it’s now all about the money. Degree? What a joke. I could see if he had a concussion or wonky knee or ankle. Personally hope the kid doesn’t get hurt in the nfl early ands up living under a bridge.

Lots of fans are going to make business decisions about their monetary investment into the program in the near future I would presume
