I can't even try to read his stuff anymore. 500 pages of him talking about how good he is, and he makes picks like FSU as National Champions... give me a break.

Look, one of two things will happen. Either LSU finally woke up and is putting things together finally and will come in ready to dominate again (in which case we will win) or LSU continues to be the inconsistent team that they have been for the first half of the season, starts slow, never gets in rhythm offensively and gives up a big play or two on defense due to lost focus (in which case we will lose).

Mandel--an objective bystander--is betting on the latter. Tiger fans are hoping for the former. Doesn't make his prediction wrong-headed. And I sure hope that the leaders on this team (e.g., Reid, Montgomery, apparently Hairston(!), Copeland and Mettenberger (is he finally ready to lead?)) recognize the potential for a "hangover" type game and will this team to not allow it.

That's a pretty good assessment, Mike, and fair. But I really feel like LSU turned a corner in the last game. The emotion was tangible - which was lacking in the first six games. If we can cobble a decent offensive game plan together and Mett can find some poise, I feel good about these pundits eating their words on Monday.

Mandel is an idiot. So South Carolina came out flat after dominating a then Top 5 Georgia and heading to the most intimidating place to play? Face it Mandel, they got beat by a better team that night.

And LSU falling flat? This team knows if they want to head to Miami, they can't lose again and have a huge stretch, you best believe they are pumped to go into College Station and show this team what a real defense is and what smashmouth football is like.

No need to come out flat as well when they have a bye week following this game, they can be flat Sunday

You may have tough time enjoying LSU games. You may want a different style of play, but you cannot ignore their record.

south carolina didn't come out flat vs LSU. a&m had their hands full vs la tech, so if he wants to bring up the "emotional letdown theory", they could come out "flat" as well

Aggies defensive end Damontre Moore will wreak havoc against a vulnerable Tigers offensive line

just like clowney did huh? IF the offensive line plays as well as they did vs south carolina, this game won't be close. since we don't know whether or not the offensive line can play well consistantly, i think the game is pretty close

quote:

Johnny Manziel won't put up anything close to 576 yards, but he won't need to given LSU's limited offense

at this point, we can't argue about how inconsistent the passing game has been, so i can see why people are skeptical, but florida's qb is horrible, yet they were able to come out with a 10 point win.

Yep. Aggies gave up 57 to Tech. Do you realize the aggies also held three sec teams combined to only 57? Florida 20, Arkansas 10 and Ole Miss 27. Either the SEC offenses are really bad or you can admit the aggies had a rough night with 19 penalties and had four defensive players missing last week.

No way A&M should win this game but give them two more years of recruiting. Enjoy while out can.

Can not wait for Saturday.

LSU D has given up 47 pts to three SEC teams. (SC,FL,AUB) On average they've allowed these SEC teams to score only 53.7% of their season scoring average.

And seriously...bragging about holding down Arkansas and Ole Miss

You must not be watching the games. If you think the play calling last week was bad, you must have the football intelligence of a 12 year old

REading that, I had two revelations:

1.) I could be a MUCH better sports writer than 90% of the hacks out there

2.) Nobody would pay attention because you only seem to get noticed if you say stupid shite

As for the game, TAMU does not match up well with LSU. This will only be close if LSU has multiple critical turnovers.

Mandel wrote a book on how conferences take turns being elite in college football, that there is a cycle in supremacy, plus he went to Northwestern- yankee hack

I feel like sportwriter's talk about two competing team's offenses as if the two offenses take the field at the same time and play one another.

After 100 years of football I have yet to see it happen.

Are you aware La Tech has a good QB that can complete a forward pass, unlike Mettenberger?
