Prayers for Coach Krag and his family. I wish him the best and that his prognosis is not severe at such a young age.

I certainly am not going to speculate on his illness or second guess his decision. No one except for him knows what's best in his situation.

My Sister said.

I think this will give the offense a little more motive to win.
Out of grief usually good things happen. He still will be mentoring JJ and the other QB's so in a way they will have a personal coach. The other Offensive coordinator will have most of the work.
It is sad , his wife is sick now him, life is like that you need to "learn to dance in the rain".

it's about learning to dance in the rain.

Sorry to hear--something like this transcends rivalries. Best wishes to Coach Kragthorpe.

I doubt Stud will be calling plays. I think this move is more in caution in case Krag needs to have treatment during the season. I think for now, the change in name is just that. We'll see though.

WOW!!!

Everyone needs to say a prayer for the coach and his entire family. Very bad news that is for sure.

Hope his case is one of very slow development and hope he can continue on the LSU coaching staff into the future.

I have to think that all that his family has gone through resulted in him stepping down as OC out of obligation to his family more so than him not being able to handle the job. You know rearranging of priorities more than anything else.

i agree with george. they probably thought that espn would get wind of it and fans would be pissed at Les for not being honest. any loss and then finding out would have led to an uproar and a national media circus about les and an embarrassment of coach k. having said that, the disease is different for everyone and he will have a transition period with the medicine. I know that this will only make the team mentally stronger. all of the coaches work on the game plan, they just need somebody who knows the playbook in and out and that is stud, plus i'm sure he knows something about calling a game. they will get it done. remember, this is not just a game, these coaches are responsible for developing all of the young men on the team, including many who have potential to make millions of dollars in pro football. they know they hold these kid's futures, hopes and dreams in their hands. they will not short change them. we are blessed to have les and his coaches. good luck coach K. fight the good battle. fight hard, fight long, hope to prevail.

Miles echoed that sentiment, going even more in-depth on Kragthorpe’s evolving role. “His involvement is every snap,” Miles said, responding to a reporter’s question. “It’s just there’s just a potential glitch in the health, and you don’t want to be in a spot where you need a specific call and have there be an unanticipated, but possible glitch in health.

First off, my thoughts and prayers go out to Coach Krag and his family and friends.

Secondly, the timing of this, while not ideal, could have been far worse.

Lastly, since we know Coach Krag was keeping the same offense and just tweaking it a bit to give JJ the best chance to succeed, this won't have as big an effect as might be true otherwise.

So to sum up, the sky is not falling. And again, best wishes to Coach Krag!
