How's Robinson? He looked like he was in pain and was upset when he went down with an injury. He was having his best game ever and the light looked like it was coming on. I'd hate to lose him now.

Heard he's doing fine. Not terribly serious.

Per the advocate:

quote:

LSU coach Johnny Jones said Robinson was in a walking boot after the game. He will likely be questionable at best for the Tigers’ next game with Marquette on Monday night in the semifinals of the Legends Classic in Brooklyn.

Best case scenario is that it is a mild sprain. Either way, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see him again until at least December.

You had to feel bad for him. I'm sure the injury hurt, but you could also tell how frustrated he was with being injured after starting out the season playing well. He shoved Victor away when Victor tried to help him to the bench.

We are going to be hurting bad against the better teams until ER III/Victor can play.

Please please please just play Bridgewater and not Malone.

I was sad that Darcy finally dunked and it was called back on a foul call.

Darcy Malone getting any meaningful minutes against good competition will lead to losses.

That kid is just not very good. Its amazing how he can't jump at all

I might have missed that one. I do remember seeing him dunk at the end of the game right after the buzzer went off.

I'd go small until Victor comes back anyway. Not impressed with Robinson.

He's doing EXACTLY what this team needs him to do. He has shown a ton of improvement.

Not having him for these next two games (if he misses) will be very bad for this team.

Hope so, we will need his size against Marquette.

Wish he would assert himself more on the boards, but his scoring has improved at least

I'll probably get flamed, but I agree. Robinson had some good numbers last night and he provides some value with a big body inside, but he's slow, with terrible footwork, and I don't think he can jump. Decent free throw shooter so far though.

All that being said, he's been productive so far and that's good, but I just can't see him continuing that against athletic big men when we play the better teams on our schedule.

Hope I'm wrong.

He has moments where he looks really good. You can see there is potential.

But he plays like the basketball is too hot too touch. He doesn't want to hold it for long at all, and has trouble handling it.

In a vacuum he's not overly impressive. But he's miles better than he was last year. So he's improving. With game experience he can only get better.

He'll contribute and he will improve, if the injury isnt serious. It'll just take time for him to fully reach potential. When we face athletic big man like Damien Jones I'd expect to see more victor.

Problem with him being out is that he needs minutes. He seems to be improving every game and his big body in there is much needed. I am guessing Bridgewater will get more playing time and I am okay with that because he needs minutes as well and he is another big body that we can use.

Y'all are bashing a guy who lost ~100lbs just to see the floor.
Be appreciative.
He does what we ask him. You can't expect him to get 10-10 every night when:

1.) you have an insane amount of scorers and
2.) all our other players have rebounded well.

After all, there are only so many rebounds out there to grab.

I agree. I'm not saying he's not improved. He is. If you put Simmons with Quarterman, Sampson, Blakeney, and Patterson, that's a pretty sick lineup.

Simmons has a Lebron like game, so use it. Put four shooters around him until Victor comes back. Let him run the offense and create mismatches.
