Second year under the new system

THIS.
In Aranda I trust. This guy's record is littered with stout defenses, most of which had less talent then what we will have next year. Depth will be a concern in certain places, but his scheme, mind, and most importantly coaching ability seems to be the #1 factor to his defenses being successful.

I don't know if we will be "better" then this year, but I don't think we will be bad. If the offense can muster a heart beat, taking a step back of D isn't even noticed.

I like it, like it a lot. Secondary is talented, but lacks experience. Early games will be important for them as a group.

Two comments:

1. I think M.D. will make a superb ILB next to White. He is already 234lb or so, and has quickness along with the ability to drop runners.
2. Don't forget about J. Battle at a S spot. Good size, and is getting quality reps this season.

You can see we definitely need some depth at DL/LB, hope CEO and the staff can make it happen.

-D line could be better.-Linebackers may be a step down unless Devin White really comes along. Mike Divinity will be a beast eventually. -secondary will be fine, there is just too much blue chip talent not to be

DB's are going to be a huge concern going forward. if KTII steps up we'll be saved... otherwise it'll be a lot of frustration.

LSU will be better than expected next season I see. Too much talent and a really good teacher for once. These guys know where they are supposed to be defensively because of him and that's what made them good this season. They seem to understand their responsibilities better with him teaching them.

Different role. he was the rover.

He was the weakside lb. And i never said they were in the same role.
I was just saying we are losing a very productive lb in riley too.

That's great news that he's up to 234 lbs going into his second year. Either he or White will need to learn how to call the defense. That's the biggest hurdle.

In 2013, Wisconsin finished 7th in total defense.

Going into 2014, Aranda had to replace 8 starters, including their entire front seven.

They finished 4th in total defense that year.

I have faith in Aranda

Wonder if LaCouture comes back for his 5th year. That would definitely help.

You dont understand football if you really believe lsu is as talented defensively as bama. Educate yourself and stop believing what football ignorant people around you say.

Alabama is more talented , if you don't know that then I feel sorry for you . I agree , but it's not impossible for LSU to be as dominant . If we can generate a top notch pass rush we will be deadly next year . We have play makers at every position . Don't sleep on Greedy Williams either , he redshirted this year but he's gonna be a player as well .

We really need inside linebackers though . We gotta flip someone .

Lsu is really talented defensively but no program in cfb is close to bama. They have multiple 5 star players on the bench.

It kind of hard to be as dominant from beginning to end because of the depth.

There is a pretty noticeable gap between our starters and 2nd string. Those gaps arent as big at bama.

Thank the lord for Aranda. I truly believe he is the next great dc in cfb. I actually wouldve been ok with actually hiring him as hc given his success at 2 big time programs.

The talent in the big 10 has a huge drop off after Michigan and osu.

Where as auburn, georgia, ole miss, lsu ,a&m,florida, and bama all have good recruiting classes.

But i have faith in aranda.
