We had no energy in the second half partially because of the crowd. Everybody left.
My buddy and I were able to walk to the student section and all the way down to the lower section. Then Everytime we started yelling people were giving us funny looks. IN THE STUDENT SECTION

It was executed well no doubt, but our alignment was horrible. We were lined up for a regular kick. Only had 3 on the front line on that side of the field. I'm not exactly sure what BDP was thinking. It's a numbers game and they had us outnumbered.

These types of statements are as dumb as anything written on this board.

By this thinking both Ole Miss and Alabama are about as good as Nicholls State.

FSU beats OM by completely dominating them after the 1st quarter.
Alabama gives up 43 to them.
FSU gives up 63.

Crap on our team and coaches but at least come with something beyond what a 5th grader would consider relevant.

When they kicked the onside kick we only had 3 guys up front to block and maybe 3 behind them. I need to watch replay but we were definitely lined up differently the second time they kicked (when they kicked deep)

We had 6 sacks, 9 TFL

Dupre in the slot was wide open, Charks hands. Fournette getting healthy. Punter may not be handicapped

Passed for more yards than rushed, threw no picks.

Won an SEC west game

Saw about 29 DL stunts

May be watching the best Pass rusher we've ever seen

CB blitz that got there

Or you can just be a miserable frick wad

Minus the failed reverse at the end, what specifically did our coaching do to hold this team back?
A number of 1 receiver sets. Even if you call those every 3rd play they kill the team.

What irretated me the most in the second half play calling was the reverses. I can see using LF as a decoy but to run reverses with the boxes stacked is going to result in a negative play. To me that was the worst imagination of play calling I have ever seen. At some point we are going to have to start throwing the slant routes

I guess fournette's fumbles were typical Les moves. I'm not a Les guy by any means. This offense will get better. Bradley Dale needs to gtfo now.

For those putting out the false narrative that this is the same team/game please answer this:

When was the last time the team converted 44% of their 3rd down plays (50% if the Pocic holding call doesn't bring back a perfect throw)?

When was the last time the QB completed 63% of his passes, made good reads and worked progressions?

When will we see a game again where LF fumbles twice ending drives into the opponents side of the field and as analysts have written "Let the opponent back into the game"?

When was the last time analysts complained we passed the ball too much in the 2nd half?

When was the last time we passed 30+ times in a game we were leading throughout?

How often do onside kicks not only work but get recovered inside the receiving team's 40 (admit it it was just a well/fortunately executed play)?

I've been extremely critical of this team's lack of focus, killer instinct and coaching. This game does not fit that category. Absolutely, there are things to clean up and improve, but if you don't see the difference in this game vs others you are really being lazy.

Here you go:
READING THE SITUATION

How can you and your players gain an advantage when defending the onside kick? Teach your players to do the following:

• The hands team should deploy as a mirror to the kickoff team, If the kickoff team overloads one side of the field, the same number of hands team players should take positions in front of them, plus perhaps one extra player, just to be safe.

• The hands team should set up in two levels. Some players should be near the line where the ball becomes live (10 yards from the kick off line), and some players should deploy 5 to 7 yards behind them, where they can look for the longer, higher bounces. One member of the hands team should be 20 to 25 yards behind the rest of the team, looking for a short, pop-over kick or an unexpected deep kick.

• Evaluate the way the kicker sets the ball on the tee to get an idea about which direction he will kick it. Players on the hands team should shift to that side of the field.

• Watch how the kicker lines up for his approach to get an idea about which direction he is going to kick the ball. Again, hands team players should shift in that direction.

If we got rid of miles today and kept all the other coaches this would be a scary good team. That's what I see anyways.

Seriously, when has LSU not been a works in progress under Miles.

Remember we came into the year with the most experienced talent returning in the SEC and ranked #5 in the nation. And we're hanging on to beat an Average State team.

I think this is the point, yes we all saw the improvements. LSU played the best game they have played all season. Improvements all around. It resulted in a 23-20 win against the worst team in the west by far. LSU with all the returning starters and all this talent is a "work in progress". Lol

That end around handoff happened to close to the line of scrimmage with 8 or 9 in the box. Chark never had time to build speed. If it would have been a couple or three yards deeper in the backfield, it could\would have allowed the speedster to make the corner. Same play last year in either the TAM game or the bowl game resulted in an 87 yard TD.

What O-Line can take injuries to three starters? The reason those backups don't play is because they are not as good as the guy that starts. It stands to reason that if the starters go out, then the quality will go down. Right?

That's the problem. We have looked like a work in progress for the last five years

optimistic. I just recognized it was coached differently. after all this time that's a huge positive for me!

This. The QB play was infinitely better than anything we've seen since 2013. This time, for once, I don't blame the coaches for the players mistakes which kept the game close.
