1. Wear out the Bama backfield by making them run for at least 8 yards every carry. This usually pays dividends in the 4th Quarter
2. Wear out the Bama DL by making them run deep into our backfield to sack Mett. No more 3 step drops where they can sack him without running.
3. Wear out the Bama receivers by letting them run through our secondary. This was a crafty move by the coaching staff and Bama fell for the bait.
4. Rest Copeland and Hill for the A&M game. This is just good long-range planning.

so...I've yet to see what adjustments the rant would have made at halftime?

What wasn't working that you would have changed?

We started on offense and went the other direction.

We were in the game. The only adjustment we can make is personnel and it's either redshirting or not here yet.

You forgot;

6. Make sure Bama is able to shorten the game with long sustained drives.

What he said, that pretty much sums it up!!!

Hey on the bright side there was at least one positive that came out of it. At least we now know that while Saban is busy running the SEC, at least Miles isn't left out he is busy running red lights!!!!!

You'll never win the SEC if you can't control/dominate the LOS...that is not too complicated...LSU has a serious deficiency on the DL....period...and at LB....but the LBs don't have a chance is the DL is getting dominated....period! I would be looking for Junior College help right now for DT...and a new OL coach yesterday!

It would have been nice to see:
1. Tackling
2. Pressure
3. Solid run game
4. Pass protection
5. Force turnover

Tackling is not a halftime adjustment, neither is force turnover, solid run game, or pass protection.

Deciding to pressure more, thats an adjustment. Committing to the run? Thats an adjustment, but that doesn't mean it will be solid.

At halftime, probably not a lot. End of the 3rd, there appeared to be a dominant OL and DL in the game and it wasn't LSU. Something had to be done at that moment. Maybe they tried, but nothing worked.

Well if you're getting dominated at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, you can make all the halftime adjustments you want and pretty much none of them are gonna work.

The wholesale halftime adjustment thing is by far one of the most overblown myths in sports. Saban had 2 weeks to prepare for lsu, he didn't magically come up with a plan that would work in the 10 minutes before the 3rd quarter started.

Did Miles and company not have two weeks to prepare for Bama as well?

A better qestion to ask is:"How many of you would recognize ajustments in aligment, blocking assignments, coverages, rush angles, etc?

The group of friends I was watching the game with said well LSU has outplayed Alabama but wait till after halftime. We were right Alabama made adjustments and LSU continued the toss dive with 8 and 9 in the box.

What wasn't working the first half?
He's not getting paid $4 million a year to come up with those answers. He's an observer of the game and could see that we didn't try to do anything different. Your strawman of challenging someones coaching bona fides is lame.

It's not necessarily that we needed to change things up in the second half cause what we did wasn't working. It's that we needed to adjust to the adjustments saban made to beat us. He told us at halftime what their adjustments would be. That they needed to dominate the line of scrimmage and run the ball more and they needed to getoff the field on 3rd downs. To do that they brought tons of 3rd down pressure while doubling Landry. They started stopping us and we didn't adjust. We could have threw more early down passes to not get in 3rd and longs or more screens to slow the rush. Defensively when it was obvious they wanted to pound us then load the box and play man coverage. If u get beat by the pass so be it but don't just get run over and do nothing different.
