He's an observer of the game and could see that we didn't try to do anything different. Your strawman of challenging someones coaching bona fides is lame.

The wholesale halftime adjustment thing is by far one of the most overblown myths in sports.

Saban had 2 weeks to prepare for lsu, he didn't magically come up with a plan that would work in the 10 minutes before the 3rd quarter started.

I'm just gonna leave this here...

quote:

University of Alabama football coach Nick Saban knows how to make schematic adjustments at halftime.

And he gives a pretty good motivational locker room speech.

Both were used Saturday night on the Crimson Tide so the players could finish the key SEC West Division game strong against Louisiana State.

quote:

linebacker C.J. Mosley said. “The past few years, it has been close (against LSU). We wanted to do what we do and show them what we can do. This team can finish strong. We can make adjustments at halftime and win the game.”

quote:

The big change on defense was to blitz LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger more.

quote:

His long pass completions were also a result of miscommunication by the secondary. Cornerback Deion Belue said there were times he thought there was help from the safety that wasn’t there.

quote:

when you don’t do things right and adjust to the formation, it doesn’t work,” coach Nick Saban said. “They did something we weren’t ready for, and we got nervous. Then we got into halftime to make sure the players know what was going on.

quote:

Alabama blitzed Mettenberger more in the second half and stopped playing zone in the secondary. The four sacks and two hurries led to bad passes and decisions by him.

quote:

There were only four second-half offensive possessions for the Tigers. Two ended on downs and one on a punt.

quote:

The offense linemen were just challenged by the coaches — in a firm manner — to open holes for the running backs.

quote:

Alabama gained 64 rushing yards in the first half, but ended up with 193 in the game.
That allowed Alabama to run the clock and keep the ball away from the Tigers.

But again, according to the Sunshine Pumpers, there are no halftime adjustments to be made by Les and our coaches. Again, its not their fault, there is nothing they can do.

This is not an example of an in-game adjustment but LSU needs to work on its 2 minute offense. In the few games all year that they were behind and desparate they weren't been to good at it. LSU only ran 22 total plays in the second half. The last 12 plays (not counting the punt) from scrimmage only netted them -6 yards.

I don't remember that Mett went long at all in the 2nd half. Only one pass to a TE...for 22 yards to Gordon.

Was Mett too beat up? Could Jennings have done any better?
