Did you think Florida had good fundamentals in their tournament losses to Bethune Cookman and Wake Forest? Did you watch those games?

If it is a big deal winning the NC in baseball, and I do believe its a big deal; then why would anyone think the only way to have a good year is to win it all????

I watched, and bitched, and analyzed all year like most here. I watched the team fix issues, get better, kids improve, and our team come together.

I enjoyed the post season, even though we saw some disappointments (Walker hurt, 13-1 OSU, and then the Florida series); however, I never felt we were undermanned, outcoached, or out hustled except when we lost Walker.

Florida just had a better two days than we had, and that was because of their pitching staff, air tight D, and timely hitting.

They didn't steal better than we did, bunt better than we did, hit and run better than we did, or have a better strategy than we did. Their batting averages weren't all that hot, they had guys thrown out stealing, they had wild pitches, and they had guys miss bunts and get picked off base.

Florida wasn't flawless either, they just played better overall.

I am just a fan, not an expert, but to me the biggest problem was bringing Reynolds back for the 4th inning when PM said 3 were planned, then after bringing back leaves him in for walks, that just seems crazy and we never seem to warm anyone up until it is too late. No one else just sits there and lets a seldom used pitcher issue 3 straight walks. Saying all this it was still a great year.

Couldn't agree more. CPM just seems to tighten up in the big situations. I don't understand it, because if he would coach with the attitude he has in the SEC tournament every year he would do much better.

Freeman was one of the best bunters in the SEC & has been ever since he got here. His 2-3 popups were not the norm & though aggravating, he was still the best bunter on the team. Pap had some great squeeze bunts, Jordan as well. Who exactly sucked so much that the team gets a rap of poor bunters? CPM's hit & run attack worked all season long & was highly complimented on by the various tv announcers, those who know what they are talking about.

We threw wholestaff game 1 and nearly won. Game 2 the wind was gusting inward for the first time all tournament and Florida had a young stud on the mound. We made numerous errors on defense and a cataclysmic frickup on the bases that would have tied the game.

I don't see why this always has to be a blame Manieri thing. Odds were against us and at the end of the day, it's baseball, a game where slumps and bad breaks happen.

Cold on Omaha...?

Yes...as many have said, the Pitching is top notch, it gets much harder to hit/score typically.

For years I said all the scoring on college baseball comes after the 7th inning. Or, more accurately after the point when the starter is relieved.

You go from potential high draft picks to good high school level pitching pretty quickly...and the hitters can all hit, so that change in pitching makes a world of difference

Pretty simple, actually.

I thought the team played looser and more relaxed in the postseason than have in a while.

Not being able to sign loi with 18 yr old pitchers who instead go pro for 7 figures is the biggest problem.

simple and very true. losing walker really hurt but our bullpen having poor outings killed us
