yes, people need to stop saying that because it has nothing to do with why he isn't playing, he isn't playing because he is injured that seemed to get even worse towards the end of the season

This guy must have been an imposter.
There are no stupid Tiger fans or we would have detected them on this very board...

I agree and want to fight people that say it's "meaningless". The game counts, your final ranking will be adjusted on the outcome of this game. And where's your damn pride? You play to win the game!

but I understand and 100% agree with him sitting out.

Seeing how Fournette played injured all season long, I don't have an issue with him sitting this game out. He proved long ago that he was willing to play with an injury.

However, I do have a problem with him skipping the team banquet and if he doesn't attend the bowl game with his teammates. Pretty selfish if you ask me.

And P.S.

That he played his whole senior season with a high ankle sprain that kept getting reinjured should show he has plenty of heart for anyone who questions that.

Fournette has been hurt all year. He is going pro. I'm all for him sitting out to fully heal. It is an exhibition game. I don't understand why anyone is upset about this.

If he were fully healthy, that would be a problem. But, he isn't.

Only problem I have with it is his team supports him, why cant he be at the bowl game supporting his team? Don't blame him for not playing and risking his health but he could be on the sideline with his buds.

it's not an "exhibition game' at all. It determines final poll rankings and has a big effect on how people feel about the direction of the program

It's important to end the season on a upward trend and not a downward tic. Both for recruiting, the national perception of the program, and for the effect it has on how the fan base feels about the program through the whole offseason.

especially with a new coaching staff

I guess that part of his life is over once he signed with a agent. Time for his life to move on with the next phase. He has a kid and has to do what he has to do.

He's done with this team.
Of course LF should not have played because of the ankle injury, but he was quick to jump from LSU before the whole season was over by signing with the agent. Anyone who cared about the Tigers would have stayed with them through the season, even if it was on the sidelines.

Good luck to him, but he cares about this team about as much as I care about where he gets drafted. I'm glad we got to watch him run the football while at LSU, but next year we'll see just as good a runner as the one leaving.

It's as simple as this- 100% healthy he plays. Not 100% healthy he does not play. WTF is that so hard for people to understand?

I member when Jr's were leaving for the NFL in bunches and we thought that was the new norm. But that didn't turn out to be so.

It's a self centered move. Whether you are ok with it or not is a different question.

This game is more meaningful than the Ark and A&M game.

Hate the term knuckle dragger, especially in this instance. He is an LSU fan that expressed an opinion. He did not malign Leonard, simply indicated it could have some draft impact. Tolerance is not your strength.

Agreed. He isn't healthy and wouldn't be that effective in the bowl game anyway. He is making the right decision, and dusting off the haters who don't want to see him get his.

What would you do, is the question you should be asking yourself? Everyone has their opinions. Truth is, there is no right or wrong answer. What may be right for one may be wrong for another. And to the game meaning nothing, I totally disagree! Every game is absolutely meaningful! For different reasons, but meaningful nonetheless.

Spare me this bs....He has a 10 MILLION dollar insurance policy in case of him losing his career from college injuries. He could have stayed part of the team and traveled with them and just not played IF the injury is still there.

He started losing respect weeks before the season ended by doing selfish things. (of course he was injured, not speaking to that).

Like he really couldn't wait 3 more weeks before signing with an agent! Just a low rent move. Just like when he held us hostage w his recruitment and talkingbyo Bama, making us constantly use resources on him instead of recruiting others.

That being said. He's one of the all time greats.
