Came across a fella in Chattanooga today wearing LSU garb and gave the proper "Geaux Tigers" greeting.

He mumbles something then engages me and mention LF......says him sitting out looks bad and will cost him at least $2million. W. T. F.

I made my position clear that win the lingering injury, an opp of a lifetime (incl a little girl to raise), and a meaningless bowl game (with Guice on board and little to help his resume) I absolutely understand the sit out.

On boards is one thing but to face an idiot in person is something else.

I'm with you man. Sitting out is a smart move and I respect the kid for it. Anyone that argues this is a complete dumbass and sounds like a Gump fan

People are all going to reach their own conclusions. No sense in arguing with them. Leonard isn't going to last past the 10th pick regardless. Sure, there's a risk that a GM that might have taken him earlier may back off because of his perception of the situation. Leonard knew the risk of that when he made his decision.

I quit acknowledging people (I also live out of state), most have been absolutely clueless.

Yup. He was a great player that battled injury all year. Who cares if he is looking after his future. It's the smart move on his part

Some people have tiny brains and are emotionally immature. They can't put the big picture together and since their whole life revolves around LSU they take it personally that LF didn't do what they wanted and are pissed off

Totally agree....he battled all year. He was never 100% after Wisconsin and seemed to keep tweaking that ankle. He needs to rehab and get well for his future! Thanks for being a great warrior, Leonard...good luck and God bless!!!

Playing could cost him $10m

Is he traveling with the team, and going to be part of it providing leadership from the sideline? Serious question, I don't know.

If so, I believe it's absolutely the right move. If not, why wouldn't he at least do that to show the team he is part of them until the very end?

I don't care much either way about Fournette playing or not. However the defense saying it's a meaningless game also opens it up for any pro bound player to not play as well. Why stop at the bowl game? How about whenever your team is out of playoff contention?

I will start to worry about that when it starts to be a bigger issue

people are saying he will not be able to travel with the team unless he pays his own way because he is no longer an amateur. The team can not provide him with any benefits of any kind. it will all be on his own dime

True, but Roc Nation will take care of any expenses if LF7 wants to be in Orlando...

Which he should

I'm just getting tired of no one bringing up the ankle injury he's been having since August.

It's not a "meaningless game" but I understand and 100% agree with him sitting out. Even if he had wanted to play I think the coaching staff should or would have recommended he sit out. That he played his whole senior season with a high ankle sprain that kept getting reinjured should show he has plenty of heart for anyone who questions that.

Just curious, where did he get the $2 Mil from. Why not 5, 10, or 15 Mil?

First rounders are usually drafted on the team's needs anyway. If everyone were to pass him up in the first round he would lose much more than $2 Mil.

With that being said, there's too much on the line for these GMs, Owners, Head Coaches to pass on a guy for not wanting to play in his meaningless bowl game for fear making a season long nagging injury worse.
