We would need a couple wins in SECT to get strong consideration.

I would think the only way we get a national seed is a sweep of Florida, and winning the sec tournament

Bye, yes. National seed, not yet. We'd need to have a good showing in the SECT.

A national seed will be tough for LSU. Florida is probably the lockiest, lock for a national seed. They would be the only SEC team we would have an argument on the field over. Assuming they will definitely get one, that leaves the fact that no conference has gotten more than 3, and there are three additional teams who are in line to get national seeds, SC/MSU/aggy. SC is probably the second lockiest, lock. That leaves two teams which beat us in the season series.

Nah, msu and A&M are bigger locks than SC.

Florida, Miss St, and A&M are locks

its ok though, win today and keep winning and i like our chances against anyone right now

Even if that were true, it still doesn't help that no conference has even gotten 4 national seeds and we are fifth for consideration.

If LSU swept Florida, why would the Gators be a lock? They would finish fifth in the SEC in this case.

Sweep Florida and at least make the SECT Championship game to be in the conversation

Also posted in the game thread: LSU has moved to #6 in RPI according to Warren Nolan's "Live RPI."

LINK

Obviously RPI isn't the end-all be all for a national seed, but that is a hell of a jump for the time being. Of course things will change as more games are completed today

We are right there with SC. I think our resume is right with theirs and we've been much better as of late.

Yeah it's asking a lot but if SC, A&M, and State all lose their game 3 (crazy but not impossible) LSU will be SEC Champions and will be a lock for a national seed. An SEC Champion has never been passed over for a national seed.

No. 1 RPI, No. 4 SoS. Lost one game out of conference. Got swept where their best guy got rained out, second best guy was sick, their all-conference first baseman didn't play, and in a 7-inning finale. If you look at the rest of their play and look at the flukey things that happened in the last weekend, they still get a national seed.

Now that is just the pro-Florida slant. You could look at it as LSU had their best guy rained out and still turned around and kicked Florida in the dick. Poche battled and Puk didn't. Game three is anyone's game, and LSU didn't have the Lochridge monster, Latz, and Collin Strall ( ).

Bye. Yes.

National Seed. I hope so. Series win against Vandy and Florida. Only questionable series loss against Alabama. I think we have a better resume than South Carolina unless they win the SEC regular season.
