Every year is "the year" until that year actually concludes, and we find ourselves in another forgettable bowl game.

You will find just as many people saying 5 losses every year.

You Miles Haters need to get behind the team or get the frick out. Seriously, a lot of us wanted a change, but this will be a solid team next year with still a good coach.

A lot of coaches out there are and have been losing bad. That's not magically going to stop just by coming to LSU.

BS

2016 & 17 are stacked with talent.

Bring in #1 (or 2) class this year and next and we can compete for next 4-5 years easily.

If you want to be dickish then you succeeded. It's college football and the team changes yearly, part of what makes it so much fun is the unpredictability. We sure appear poised for success in 2016.

while having tremendous raw talen

Right, high school guys are going into the NFL within three years to become starters and key team contributors on a regular basis only because they have raw talent.

Tell me you are not that naïve.

By this time next year, fans will be proclaiming that 2017 is our year.

There is a two-year window here because the QB is only a sophomore. If by his senior year they don't make it then it's safe to say it will never happen.

i like the hire. dunno what you would expect me to say negatively

having a cerebral guy as our #2 or 3 coach is going to be big for our locker room

i think his personality and youth also will help him mold into an ace recruiter here under wilson and orgre's lead

Why wouldn't we have a better team next year though?

I was kind of assuming Beckwith was leaving and that was my reasoning. Don't see much on paper currently behind those guys. This was also pre d coordinator hire also.

So you expect every fan to give up on the team like some here have?

I don't think anybody thinks the program is a dumpster fire. People are just tired of the team not playing up to their potential. That's the bottom line and I don't see how you cannot see that.

We might win a national title.

We will certainly be a flawed team with a limited coach.

Well, 2016 is definitely A year.

I just don't buy into the whole premise of there being a year that is THE year or bust. But I view following LSU differently than a lot of people seem to. To me it is entertainment. I enjoy watching the Tigers. I enjoy things like seeing Steve Spurier coach his last game ever in Tiger Stadium, watching LF go off, watching some great sacks and some long completions.

And sure I get frustrated and disappointed when they lose, particularly when they Lose bad. But I'm old enough to know into every life some rain must fall. If I wanted to see something where the good guys never fail I'd watch Saturday morning cartoon shows. Or find a team or teams that went undefeated and watch replays of their seasons over and over.

LSU is terminally unique. They're the only team that deals with young rosters and talented guys leaving for the NFL.

I think LSU will be better next year. But I still don't see how they'll beat Bama. Bama won't lose as much talent as people hope on that defense and they somehow always have an experienced junior or senior ready to step up anyways.

Another negative clown who couldn't find his way out of a dead end street. How does LSU get all these guys into the NFL if they are not being coached up.

We got some dumb bunnies lurking or trolls.

This is a make or break it year for Miles. He has to deliver this year. Great veteran talent on both sides of the ball, a young bama team you get at home. We better make the playoffs.

this may be true for a lot of our players but the stats on our QBs def support this theory. I know you dont wanna hear this but tuff shite.

Oh look, Negadamus rears his ugly head with a view of the future. What's Halliburton's stock looking like in 2017?
