So 2016 is the year, right? No more "we are young" or anything?

i keep seeing this posted post-bowl and after Bama made another title game. trying to make sure we're all on record agreeing with the sentiment

ever since 2011 when the dust cleared and our season was over, our fanbase has proclaimed that we all expected 3-4 losses and the season wasn't supposed to have top-shelf results. are we shedding those low expectations for 2016?

Start this thread again after we know whether the juniors are declaring, specifically Beckwith, Pocic, and Hawkins.

Pretty much. If it doesn't happen in 2016 it never will again for Les. There's a lot of momentum and so much coming back. Which is probably why they ultimately decided to give Les one more season.

The D coordinator hire is extremely important. LSU gets Alabama at home and will have a very experienced team. This is pretty much Les' last chance to beat Saban. Because it won't happen in 2017 with all the players they'll lose if they lose to Alabama in 2016.

that's actually a great follow up

if 2016 isn't "the year", how long will it take for LSU to be an elite team again? will we have to wait another 5 yearS?

If it doesn't happen in 2016, it won't happen for Miles.

And it isn't happening in 2016.

I think the results of this season and last year are exactly what we should expect from here on as long as Les is coaching.

Yes we have a lot of talent returning but we have talent every year.

I will always pull for the Tigers but I really see no reason for optimism moving forward.

If Beckwith comes back we are set up to be a great team. Defense will be suspect if not

I would love to see how you react if lsu does come out and win big in 2016. Every one of your post has the hidden undertone that you are basically guaranteeing it won't happen.

I'm sure you will still find some way to make it negative though.

forget Bama. Ole Miss is in the Sugar Bowl and last time I looked had a better ranked recruiting class.

Every year is "the year" until that year actually concludes, and we find ourselves in another forgettable bowl game.

By this time next year, fans will be proclaiming that 2017 is our year.

unless something magical happens with our offensive philosophy and massive gaps that poor recruiting has delivered, it is almost a guarantee

Thats Miles' problem. He was given another chance on November 28th. If he doesn't win the SEC WEST next year, he needs to go. End of story.
