No clue why you're trying to make me sound like I'm from the bayou, but unlike yourself, I realize it doesn't matter what my determination of Coach O's coaching prowess may be. He has had an up-and-down track record. The coming games and seasons will tell us more.

Clearly some of you abandoned ship after the Troy game. Understandable. But if you are currently bitching about O your pride was clearly hurt by the team playing better than you expected.

Shows you know exactly jack shite about that situation. Miles was let go because he lied about changing the offense and was stubborn as a jackass...thus, the program was sliding.

The fact that he was also senile and a blubbering idiot in front of a mike didn't help his cause either.

What are your expectations for the LSU football program now?

What's acceptable and what's not?

Try to quantify it as best you can because I want to point out the hypocrisy in what you will describe.

I don't object to the firing of Les Miles. It was time.
The hiring of Edward Orgeron was purely an identity politic move that should be insulting to the LSU fanbase and yet , it's not entirely.
Change Edward Orgeron's name to Bradley Dale Peveto and the support is much much different. Peveto's resume is actually better.

Edward Orgeron is the Edwin Edwards of college football and his supporters are more Edward Orgeron fanboys than LSU fans. Much like the Edwin Edwards voters loved that corrupt bastard more than the state. They saw themselves in him and he could not be held accountable for that reason.

How the hell did Edward 10-25 Orgeron become the head coach at LSU ...I am still waiting to wake up from this nightmare. How would he get an interview ? How would fool enough people to make this happen? How could he launch a PR campaign through the media and former players ? How ? No way this can still happen...the good ole boy network died in the 90s. Right ? Didn't it ?

This is so bad and it will have to burn to the ground before most are willing to acknowledge the "dream job" bullshite narrative .

Or maybe that won't happen. Edwin Edwards was elected over and over and over and over ...

What games have you been watching? We struggle to run the ball at times. Even the first half last week sucked arse until one big pass.

So we should fire Ed Orgeron. He's a stubborn jackass and has had to put his foot in his mouth several times now.

Absolute rantard fantasy.

The decision to retain Miles, if Alleva is to believed, occurred while he was coaching the second half of the A&M game.

Miles thought he was being fired after being carried off the field until Alleva announced the decision at the podium.

How exactly did he "lie about changing the offense" if he wasn't even spoken to before the decision was made?

I'll hang up and listen

I been called a lot of things and some of it's bound to be true , I suppose. arse being one of the more complimentary discriptors , so I appreciate your kindness.

Yeah , everything is bigotry these days...I get it.

Nah, I'm from south Louisiana (St.Mary Parish) and live in the Thibodaux area now .

My last name would certainly make this ironic, but I'm not easily offended.

ETA- since I'm feeling autobiographical now - I graduated from LSU and haven't missed a home game in 24 years. I'm pretty invested in the success of my university both academically and athletically.

Not realistic? Wasn't Miles fired for less than these expectations? I'm with OP, win out besides Bama and kick arse next year with no excuses.

Why are your expectations so low ?

10 wins?

Hell we had that for over a decade and 134 wins. Let that Coach go because 10 wins is not good enough.

Here's a refresher -
2005 11-2
2006 11-2
2007 12-2
2010 11-2
2011 13-1
2012 10-3
2013 10-3
2015 10-3 (McNeese included although cancelled)

Why is 10 wins good enough NOW?
Weren't we upgrading?

5 out of 12 Miles seasons did not win 10 games... nearly 50%... and essentially the last 3 consecutive years.

So by your logic, as long as Ed O wins 8-9 wins his first full year and trends back to 10 wins on average per season 55-60% of the time, he'll be better than Miles.

Miles walked into a better roster than O. That is a fact.

At the end of the day, Ed 0 has earned a few seasons. Last year he had an exceptional year, and he is rebuilding now. 10 wins is the expectation. But as I said, even Miles missed that mark 45% of the time.

Just be better than Miles in terms of winning % and beating ranked teams.

Win more titles. Build better rosters. Put more talent in the NFL. Beat Alabama .

Be better than what we had and sustain it for over a decade.

Deal.
Sounds good.

But let's be clear - Edward Orgeron hasn't earned anything . Nothing. He has been gifted an amazing opportunity that he in no way earned. Hopefully , he doesn't wreck this program beyond recognition.

No he didn't

1-2 against ranked teams isn't exactly "exceptional".

Not sure where you are getting your numbers, but Miles won 10 games in 8 out of 11 full seasons actually (yeah I'm counting 2015 because McNeese). We didn't get a chance to see how 2016 would have gone.

That's a 72% rate of 10 win seasons, including 5 of his last 6 years.

Math

I agree with that, but also say that you have to be willing to give him a little time. I'm on the fence with him, and am willing to let him finish out the season, and see what type of recruiting class he brings in before I make an informed opinion on whether he should stay or go.

He should be on a short leash, but as fans, we should be as supportive as possible. The roster was decimated, and personally, I think the staff is doing a hell of a job considering how young they are.

And for the money, and what other coaches were asking for, I think it was the right business move... with a short leash.

Fisher is 2-3 and is definitely going to lose 2-4 more games this year. Herman is a complete DOUCHE, and will be 3-4 this weekend. Neither one of those teams is playing the amount of true freshman we are.
