Not sure where you are getting your numbers, but Miles won 10 games in 8 out of 11 full seasons actually (yeah I'm counting 2015 because McNeese). We didn't get a chance to see how 2016 would have gone.

That's a 72% rate of 10 win seasons.

Math

Ok, if you want to give Miles McNeese, and add a year, then realize last season O won 75% of his games thus putting him on pace with Miles winning percentage, even counting the games this year. Miles clearly had a stronger roster to start with than he gave O, and that certainly helped him with that 10 win count and maintaining a program.

And you have to be a complete Moron if you don't think LSU is rebuilding this year. The program was in a significant down trend over the last 3-4 years. With no QB, and injured starting RB, his star DE still not playing to his level and playing nearly 30 true and RS freshman, that sir is REBUILDING.

O can't change the culture of the offense and the QB with one season and no chance to recruit QB's. Expecting that is non sense.

If we are ok with mediocre then we should have just kept Miles.

This comment is just crazy. Miles wasn't mediocre. He was aggravating and damn stubborn, but he was not a mediocre coach by ANY measure. He kept this program functioning at a high level for a long time. You can speculate that O might make it to mediocre status, but Les earned his stripes here.

That's reasonable BUT coach O apparently doesn't listen or needs the advice of the rant or the fanbase. Two weeks ago he would be lucky to win another game, at FL, NO WAY everyone said, against a hot Auburn team, in a dead stadium, NOT A CHANCE they said, and yet here we are, 5-2 with still everything in front of them to play for. Nothing is actually lost. They could beat OM into the ground this week or squeak by, it's still a win. They could lose but then beat bama away. They could lose both games and then win out.

What's most important is that they find out who they are as a team, fix any mistakes they made this year, learn as a team and staff. They can find out what they are made of, close the class strong, and come back next year, with more intensity, more leadership, more hungry, more strong, and tough than the year before. With all these young guys getting playing time, it will benefit tremendously in the future.

They are giving their best effort this year to end the year. Of course I would love to stop saying next year, but that's why you play the best players, no matter their age, because the next year, you will be improved on all fronts that were weak the year before. Etling has to be played because the QB position needs someone who is most mature. Hopefully Myles will be that next year. He's a hard worker so let's hope that pays off. Canada will need to work extra hard with him and the WRs in the offseason to prepare them. GT

How the hell did Edward 10-25 Orgeron become the head coach at LSU

I was stunned by the hire. Not the fire, but I couldn't for the life of me have for seen LSU firing Miles to only hire a coach of the O resume. The anybody but Miles crowd is more than a few cards short of a full deck if they cant see the vast difference in the coach needed when you fire a losing coach as opposed to the firing of a winning coach with a nationally ranked team, full stands, and top 5-10 recruiting efforts.

The thought process that pushes an agenda of since we cant get our top 2 choices we might as well take a resume that no program in college had wanted in over a decade is sad and mind blowing.

Having said that, I hope we destroy the Rebs.

Friend of mine asked me today asked if I changed my mind and was a believer in Coach O now.
I told him not yet.
Florida was a nice W on the road, but they are terrible and may not win another game this year.
Auburn was great a comeback win, but doesn't mean I think he will be a great coach.
So then he asked me what it's going to take.
I said, winning out besides Bama this year and finishing 10-3. A top 10 recruiting class and then winning 10 regular season games next year.
I told him I believe O has earned the chance to do that and I'm off his back for now compared to where he was, but that for me to believe that he is actually a good coach, that is what is will take to change my mind.
Hope he proves me wrong!!

While I agree that LSU would have beaten McNeese, the fact is we didn't get a chance to play them.

Therefore, we haven't won 10 games since 2013. Winning 10 games this year would be a positive step in the right direction.

Good thing is the team did not tank it either last year when Miles got fired or this year after the Troy disaster.
That's the biggest difference in an O coached team and a Les Miles coached team. Hate him if you will, but O's teams do not throw in the towel like Les's teams did - which they did repeatedly, over several years.

They were trying to find a coach who did not do these things:
-Tank the season after an Alabama loss year after year
-Lose 2 out of 4 to the likes of Arkansas and Ole Miss
- Eke out wins with a FG against lesser componenets
-Competently manage a game clock
-Not win an SEC West, SEC Championship, or any championship for 5 years
-Lose to Bama 5 times in a row
- Not go to a BCS bowl game for 5 years
-Lose 3 out of the last 5 bowl games
-Get smoked in the NCG and embarrassed on national TV
- Look clueless on a regular basis

I think they may have pulled the trigger on the wrong guy, but it was Miles' incompetence that force the change, ANY change.

You have absolutely nothing substantive on which to base this opinion. As a matter of fact, it's just willful denial.
