But now that we are a couple weeks removed from unavoidable proof that Les had failed again to create a championship caliber team, we get to go through the yearly apologetics ritual where we are assured that Les really is a top notch coach.

Well, when people that think like you use words like "mediocre" to describe the season, one in which 9-3 was the general consensus going it to it mind you, you'll have to understand that there will be some "apologists." Why was 9-3 OK before the season, but unacceptable after?

Yeah, the problem with the "Fire Les and everybody else" crowd is they have all these opinions and ironclad knowledge of how everything ought to be but they never have to prove their opinion is correct. Yet, any opinion that questions their assumptions, unproven theories, and flawed solutions is automaticly disregarded
and insults follow. This has been going on for 11 years

I almost remember even some of his staunchest supporters here admitting it was time for him to go.

I admitted that shite had spiraled out of control to the point that it was probably time for him to go just because I figured there was no tenable way for him to stay once the Internet/media/shite stirrers sent things nuclear. Not because I thought he sucked.

But even that assumed that LSU would bring somebody established in (I was preferring Chip Kelly) that would make the concept of a 15 million buyout for a guy coming off a 3 loss season something at least a little less than moronic.

Once Jimbo told LSU's proxies to piss up a rope (and hold onto your "Alexander did it with the candlestick in the library" fantasies all you want) and LSU clearly had no Plan B, well I was 100% back on "Let's make it work with Miles"

Take that logic straight the hell out of here. It isn't allowed.

Oh, bullshite! We had State in a very tough field goal position. That wasn't luck, buddy. And the trick play vs Florida? Come on! One: The trick play happened; that wasn't luck either. Two: We win without the trick play.

We expected 9-3 because we didn't expect to have a championship caliber team. We didn't expect that because, well, why would we? New QB again. Youth everywhere again. 2 losses doesn't usually get you a championship, and Les had only managed fewer than 2 losses once in a decade.
What if we had expected 8 losses? Would 5-7 have then been a good year because it was better than expectations?

And clearly we didn't, so...

Then what is your issue? Saban doesn't win it all every year. Why do you want a guy that by all accounts met expectations fired?

If that was the legit expectation, obviously it would be. But it would also call into question if Les had lost it. You let me know when the expectation is that low though.

You realize you can do this with every team in the country, right?

True, but with most teams, there are also some close or lucky ones that went their way, so it balances out.

Yes, idiotic and illogical

I love how you're not only taking the 7 off the board, but also 3.

While also ignoring how the rest of the game changes

I'd love to know how many threads a day are started by fans trying to discredit the accomplishments of the team.

This place is awesome.

Anyone know?

And in 2013, it swung the other way

any ways, look how horrific florida has been since the LSU game.

yeah ... horrifically winning the SEC East with a new head coach and playing this weekend.

How would you describe LSU since the UF game? I'll help you ... 2-3 ... with 3 blow-outs in November.

That's with the 11 Year Head Coach Martyr, Saint Lesticles.

I know right! Also that buffoon would have never win an NC with 2 losses sans luck. Got lucky in gotc in Bama missing 11 field goals as well. That seal clapping retard is a below 500 coach at LSU without luck. He's
The only coach in the country that would have made more than 5 million a year as a stock picker!! What we need around here is a coach that can be the winningest in program history because he's a damn good x and o man. Screw all this winning with luck bs. Tired of it I tell ya.

They missed from 44, 50, 49, and 52. Foster's long for the year was 46. He was 2/9 from 40+. Derp

At what point do you stop running your kicker out there and worry about field position

The only improvement worth mentioning is LF and the offensive line in the first half of the season.

I thought the d-line and secondary played well in the last game.

Don't forget people, we are a missed field goal(vMiss St.) and lucky trick play(vFlorida) from being 6-5 right now. I don't see this year as an improvement year. I still think Les should go. Obviously, he's not leaving this season, but after yet another sub-par year next season, he BETTER be out!!

What? That's football bro. And life. Then understand and accept that...1 missed 27 yard OK ST field goal (2011) and 2 missed LSU tackles (1 in 2012 and 1 in 2014) is what created the "dynasty" and "coaching legend" that everyone is slobbering over a little further east. THINK ABOUT IT FOR A FEW SECONDS, and while you are at it try to get a grasp on how life and reality works.

Takes all that ... to win 9-6. LMAO.

Pretty much why no one with a brain wanted to see those frickers again on 1/9/12.

And we threw back to back interceptions and brought in Jordan fricking Jefferson for the rest of the game. And they lost. See how fun it is to minimize accomplishments?

Yea, they had arguably the best defense in college football history

And we beat them at their house

We gifted them 2 terrible ints, and they still couldn't score more than 6 at home...it goes both ways
