Short-term looks good, long-term a loss for Baton Rouge economy.

Getting Florida in Baton Rouge this season looks great, sure, but playing in Gainesville 2017 and 2018 is not a good thing. Anyway you look at it, LSU loses a home game by canceling with South Alabama. Hopefully it pans out for us this season, because otherwise it's just a future 10-15 million dollar loss for the Baton Rouge economy.

With that said, I can't wait to see LSU beat Florida's asses on 11/19!

no we don't.

we're playing exactly the same number of home games this year as we were supposed to play. only with a better opponent now.

next year's BYU game is more than likely already being discussed as moving to Baton Rouge. may not happen, but that conversation will be had.

There is an old analogy that a good deal is one in which both sides do not get everything they wanted.

LSU gets Florida at home. Don't lose the home game. The players want to play and won't worry about 3 games in 12 days, as they rested this past Saturday, and they have young bodies.

All that said, Jeremy Foley is one petulant little child!

Yes, we do. We're playing at Florida in 2017 and 2018. So long-term, we do lose a home game.

That sucks. LSU's had to lose a game because of a hurricane too.

LSU shouldn't have had to lose a home game and it should have been played last weekend.

But you know that

A team or community should not have to lose a home game and the huge financial impact for a hurricane that happened three states away. We have our own disasters to worry about.

The BYU game will be moved here or cancelled and replaced with someone else.

Florida created this mess and got what it wanted so that's not any consolation to LSU.

This is by no means a perfect situation for us, but it's not as bad as it could have been. I'm fine with it. I didn't expect a perfect solution anyway.

IMO this is a loss for USA as well. Yeah we get the 1.5 million, but we were going to get 900K anyway. But now we lose the game in Death Valley, exposure in an area we are trying to recruit more in (that ULL and ULM can't give us), we lost a TV game, and now we have the issue of only having 11 games this season and what to do about a twelfth game.

Florida and the SEC sure screwed the pooch on this one. At least send Florida to Mobile for basketball game or baseball series.

LSU can fill the 2017 bye week with any rent a win and miss nothing.

Hopefully moved here, because it will be slim pickings this late in the game as far as replacements. I say just go ahead and agree to a return trip to Provo right now, and back out and pay them out later.

I seriously doubt that happens.

So drop BYU and fill the bye, the week before Bama, at the end of October, with a rent a win, and have our bye the first week of the season?
