Man, I've got to say, I'm really starting to lose my patience now. You really are either pretty dumb or purposefully ignoring things just to make a point.
quote:

We didn't get screwed in this deal. We came out ahead.
That is completely ignorant. Right now, currently, we have lost a home game for next year, which means we lose millions.
As I previously stated, LSU was already screwed once the game was cancelled that weekend. At that point, the damage was already done and UF got what they wanted which was either a cancellation or a chance to play LSU when once they're healthier.
quote:

UF got the worse of this deal.
Yeah, this year, but not overall. They get an extra game next year, so it's a push and in no way do the come out worse.
No it's not a push. They lose a home rent a win this year for an away SEC game. Their fanbase completely loses their arrangements and/or have to travel to BR this year whereas LSU fans substitute a home cupcake for a home SEC game, which is much less inconvenient to rearrange last minute. Plus, BR gets more revenue this year when it's needed most as opposed to next year.

The net for both teams is they each lose one rent-a-win and they keep but flip-flop their SEC games. To say LSU got screwed out of a home game and to ignore the fact that UF also lost a home game IS completely ignorant.

Fla loses nothing in the long run because they get the extra SEC home game next year to make up for it... period.

So putting "period" at the end makes a false statement true? What about the fact that UF had a home OOC game 11/19 just like LSU do you not understand?

Again, Fla loses nothing because next year's LSU home game makes up for the 11/19 crap game loss while LSU gets no extra home games this year but still loses one next year.

Again... LSU is -1 in home games for this and next season while Fla is even and loses nothing over the two year span.

Haven't read the whole thread, just jumping in here. Sorry if off base, but this doesn't seem accurate. Florida lost the 10/8 game vs LSU and the 11/19 game vs Presbyterian. Gets an extra home game next year. Net = -1 home game. LSU loses S. Alabama game this year and the Florida game next year, but gains home game vs Florida this year. Net = -1 home game. They come out the same on losing home games.

LSU loses South Alabama home game, but gains Florida home game this year. That's net 0.

Next year, LSU loses Florida home game, so net -1 home games over 2 years.

Florida loses LSU home game AND Presbyterian home game this year. That's net -2.

Next year, Florida gains LSU home game, so net -1 home games over 2 years.

All Florida's fault, but each team has a net loss of 1 home game over the 2 year period.

The SEC home office, under the leadership of the commissioner, fricked up their first leadership test. Everyone with a brain knows this. Just like everyone with a brain knows there was no valid reason the game couldn't have been played Sunday or Monday of the scheduled week.

All the commissioner is doing is CYA the only way he can. Point the discussion in another direction. He's not going to take on Foley so he goes after a weak AD who is not even liked by the LSU fan base.

Joe's line in the sand is a highly reasonable one that anyone functioning with an IQ over 75 should be able to understand. LSU is NOT going to play three straight road game in 12 days because UF and SEC home office sat around with a finger stuck up their arse until Thursday evening waiting and waiting and waiting to make a game decision like keystone cops.

The problem for Joe is that no one gives a shite about that he thinks. That is painfully clear and one reason he needs to go before he fricks up another hire.

Just want to correct this... Foley boxed in Sankey, Sankey made himself look like an idiot.

LSU didn't even stand by and watch. Alleva actually tried to help the man.

Goes to show you, no good deed goes unpunished.

Wasn't foley's line in the sand made public, on more than one occasion, he said it Tuesday, Wednesday, and again on Thursday...
JA was just following the trend...

After this episode, I bet the next time there is a situation involving LSU the commissioner will not be screwing around and will get serious.

We both lose a home game to a rent-a-win opponent. The two main reasons why LSU fans are pissed is
1) We didn't have to lose a home game if Florida would have tried to play the game the weekend it was originally scheduled.
2) They tried to make us look like the bad guys for trying to play them the weekend it was originally scheduled because the week they wanted to play us (11/19), LSU was already scheduled to play someone else.

It's game day. Get over it and move on

In this situation lsu fans should be as loud as possible. We are being made out to be the villain just because we wouldnt just give up a home game so that UF could get healthy(they can say it was other reasons be we all know tbats bullshite)

Exactly right. This is all Florida's doing. We should not have lost ANYTHING due to their transparent attempt to heal their players on the back of a hurricane in their vicinity.

You guys are all forgetting that Fla not only chose to screw themselves out of that game but they get plenty of insurance money for that game.

They get paid for the hurricane game anyway. Also, nobody can really say that it hurt the local economy since the local economy was screwed for the weekend by the storm.

The game being moved next year takes away from every benefit that a huge SEC game brings to LSU and the Baton Rouge economy while giving it all to Fla who does not deserve it at all.

our home game against fla this year is barely a noticeable step up from the game that was already scheduled.

Also, losing that game against a rent a win DOES most likely hurt us in a bowl selection because we have lost a win on our total record.

Guys, do not be fooled by any of this crap from the SEC or media. LSU has gotten the shaft through no fault of their own and Alleva did the only thing that he could possible do by making the only stand that he possibly could during a time of economic need after the floods.

ON TOP OF ALL OF THIS... I am not even sure that the SEC insurance will pay the 19th opponent (S Bama) off for our cancelling the game. If LSU would have to pay for that would be icing on this crap cake created totally by the SEC and Fla.

I wish a hurricane would threaten next year's game too just to enjoy the chaos. Imagine the interaction between the two universities at that point. Something tells me that they would find a way to play the game that weekend.
