quote:I'm not ignorant of anything. Instead of a rent-a-win, BR gets to host an extra SEC game this year, now an even more intense rivalry, which will bring in more revenue this year than before, a time when BR really needs it. Plus, there's still time for us to rework our future schedule, possible rescheduling the BYU date as a home game next year.
You are obviously ignorant of what has happened here and economics
The net result long term is primarily losing 1 cupcake home game, with the upside of brining in more revenue to BR this year instead of next, and with the chance of us to offset that home game loss with next year's schedule. So please explain to me me what is so ignorant about my statement?

You a couple of posts ago...

We didn't get screwed in this deal. We came out ahead.
That is completely ignorant. Right now, currently, we have lost a home game for next year, which means we lose millions.
And you said,
quote:Yeah, this year, but not overall. They get an extra game next year, so it's a push and in no way do the come out worse.
UF got the worse of this deal.
And you assume LSU will get BYU to come here, yet that means breaking contracts, which means LSU will probably have to fork over millions for that to happen.
I hope so, I don't care if LSU has to pay out that money because I'm tired of the neutral game bullshite because it is costing our city money.
Do I expect Alleva to break that contract to get us a home game? Nope. As it stands right now, net loss for BR and LSU.

Ignore it we wouldn't bend over so UF is pissed they and Bama are the most tied to big money in the conference though LSU is not that far behind. Foley and Sankey didn't get their way so now they are playing media war. It only works for a while LSU just needs to whip their as on 11-19 and no one will remember any of it.

Florida lost two home games this year, an SEC game and a cupcake. We lost a cupcake this year and an SEC game next year. It is time to move on. Fl. f...ked up and both teams will have to pay for the consequences. Should make for some very emotional games in the future.

The sooner Sankey can allow this saga to come to an end, the sooner he can try to move on from looking like a complete idiot.

I'm pretty sure we all know who drew the first line in the sand. This Sankey guy has no business running a football conference let alone a lemonade stand. He just came across as spineless throughout the entire fiasco that didn't have to be a fiasco, if he had just taken control of the situation and made decisions like his predecessors Kramer and Slive.

Is "this game will not be played anywhere but Gainesville" not a line in the sand? Seems to me Foley drew the first line! How are they innocent of breaking the "family keeps its business in house" rule?

HubbaBubba: This is off topic, but your profile caught my eye: . . . . what happened to los angeles tiger? I haven't been here in awhile

Didn't Foley draw the first line in the sand when he said the game will only be played in Gainesville? This is bullshite!!!!!

I still can't believe how fricked this "deal" is.

pretty sure that, if LSU fans collectively cured cancer, you would complain that they didn't do it earlier. Is there any more negative and anti-LSU person than the one who ALWAYS, in EVERY situation, criticizes LSU fans, no matter what?

It is difficult to come to conclusions when we're publicly stating lines in the sand. We can't do that," Sankey said
Oh yeah, those lines in the sand like refusing to consider anything but a home game for the Gators for almost a week prior to knowing the hurricane is bearing down on the coast near Gainesville, and then waiting until the 11th hour when it's too late to move the game or postpone it to Sunday or even Monday to say.. No more line in the sand. Can't play game. Must cancel. Then it's another line in the sand.... Must make LSU lose a home game or else.
Man, frick these assholes, the lot of them. It's that good ole boy network working their memory loss games, hoping everyone forgets what brought everyone to this in the first place.
Well I won't .

Everybody tries to "cover their own arse". Sankey was getting a lot of criticism for allowing Foley to draw a line in the sand" last weekend. Foley's line was play on Saturday in Gainesville or cancel. Sankey's criticism was coming from national media...not just LSU. Nothing to see here except if the SEC does make a rule about a natural disaster, it will be based on large part by what Alleva was proposing last week. Flip stadiums, delay a day or two, or go to a neutral site. Actually, this is the first time I've been proud of Alleva as a AD.

Whoever put this jackass in office evidently has a pepensity to promote people to their highest level of incompetence.
Posted on 10/15/16 at 3:35 pm to TigerDean
Foley played him and tried to manipulate the schedule on their favor, then alleva pushed back when both Sankey and Foley expected him to bow down immediately. Foley capitulated now somehow he's a good guy. Lol. Sankey is either a moron or embarrassingly bad at his new job.

So far he has shown to be a very weak, inept leader. Not impressed.
