If SLU didn't have such a strong ace, we could throw Bouman.

LSU can still get away with pitching Bouman. But I won't be surprised if Poche starts.

Especially because the Poche, Nola, then Bouman weekend rotation has been set for a couple of weeks now.

Chicken did. Forceful sex bats can no longer be used. If we lose out before Omaha I put the blame squarely on the Clucksters shoulders.

Coach PM called me and asked to pitch game 1. I think I am going to decline though. My arm sucks. The bats would really have to be awake that day. I sure wish I could help rest the staff though. He should have called me earlier. I could have been learning how to pitch.

I think we should try to score more runs than the other team.

Are we gonna have another one of these threads everyday between now and the regional? There is no way we're pitching Nola in game 1. We never start our ace in game 1 of a regional we're hosting, have you followed LSU baseball at all in the past?

Poche, Nola, Bouman will be the rotation. Poche will smoke SLU, Nola will smoke Houston, then we'll have Bouman and a fresh bullpen to take on whoever we face in game 3. That's how you win a regional. Nola pitching game 1 is not even being considered and there's no need to get cute and try to hold Poche back too especially since we'll most likely call on him to pitch game 1 of the super regional as well and we need him to be well rested.

Its a good thing our bats have not been consensual in their interactions lately.

Only way you go with your ace in game 1 is if you are facing some monster 1st rounder type.(Sheets vs Ainsworth in '99) On the flip side the two vs three matchup is almost always aces. More advantage to the 1 seed as the tourny unfolds

I agree with Poche/Nola/Bouman. It's pretty much a no-brainer with Southeastern's quality #1.
