Not even sure I would pitch Poche.

Yeah the question is not #1 or #2.....question is #2 or #3

And I agree...no Poche either. Won't matter either way tho IMO

should pitch poche...no need to gamble when we are at home and the favorite to win the regional.

Think you have to throw Poche at the least.

SELU has a stud #1, things could get hairy

quote:

SLU's top pitcher, righty Andro Cutura, is 10-2 with 1.72 ERA. 99.2 IP, 95K, 19 BB and .212 BA against.

yep and the last thing we want to do is burn up 4 pitchers in the first game. throw poche, get the win and pitch bouman on sunday against whoever's number 4 guy

yea id throw poche since we aren't going against a swac team. Poche and Nola send us to the title game and then Bouman can handle the 4 starter for whoever comes out.

He gave up 2 ER to NWSt... so, who knows?

The only thing I can really take away from the stats is that he throws strikes. 2 walks or less in his last 9 starts. The opponent quality makes it tough to give too much weight to the other stats. I'd like to see a report on him from someone who's seen him live. Velocity, arm slot? Slider or curve? Changeup?

If SLU didn't have such a strong ace, we could throw Bouman.

Baseball America says...

89-94 sinker, 80-84 cutter and quality change

ETA: Internet videos show Cutera is an over-the-top righty. Pretty straight forward.

With them pitching a righty it will ensure that Fraley and Moore will be in the lineup and Chinea and Robertson in the dugout.
