Panthers released Russell Shepard. He never attempted a pass with the Panthers. Talk about a mismanagement of talent, Ron Rivera.

Wonder if this will be the end of the road. He was a bad receiver last year. The Saints are sad to see him go.

he's made a career out of being a solid special teams player, so someone may have a need there.

regardless of whether he finds a new team, he managed to find a spot on an active roster for 5 seasons, which is a lot more than most expected from him when he left here. Just shows what hard work and willingness to do whatever you can to help your team can do.

i'm assuming the OP was not poking fun at Russell Shepard. The dig was pointed at LSU fans that insisted his talent was wasted at LSU because he never attempted a pass. It used to be quite the topic of conversation on this board a few years back.

This^^ I have nothing against Russell Shepard and I am impressed he has had as long of an NFL career that he has had. He will get picked up and continue to be a ST specialist.

Some people on here just want to be asses towards former players. Russell obtained his degree while here at LSU and he also played in the league for 5 years and will be able to get his pension if he doesn't get picked up.
When Russell leaves football alone, I guarantee you he won't be selling no damn used cars.
