If they didn't call Randle's travel a few play earlier where he hop stepped then switched pivot feet, they weren't calling anything

The late foul calls Kentucky got while near the basket were worse IMO, especially the one they called on stringer where his arms where straight up the whole time

The fact that he was out of control splitting a double team took steps (he picked up his dribble then took that first step plus two more) AND it looked like he actually came down with his right foot after the 3rd before releasing a prayer!!! Obvious travel 3 steps maybe even the 4th plus he was out if control text book officiating to calling a travel!!!

Apparently 4 steps is now allowed
At Rupp Arena, when the home team is behind in OT, there are no rules that cannot be overlooked when it is advantage UK.

I guess with all the complaining about the lack of a walking call, the fact remains that our 80+% FT shooter makes 1 of 2 and their 60% FT shooter makes 2 of 2 with the game on the line... LSU had every opportunity to win even with the questionable officiating. I'm still speechless on the Charles Barkley turrible possession in REG w/ 11 seconds to go....

Not gonna argue that it was close but in no way was he close to taking 4 steps

No question jg.... We all have the privilege of TiVo and slow mos but this all happens bang bang super fast paced. In real time I thought it was travel. I thought the fact that he was out of control and threw up a prayer just reinforced that a call should have been made. I might have a different opinion if it would have been a drive to the basket and a made basket or very close but he picked up his dribble just inside the 3pt line split a double team and ended up under the basket. That first step is always the question of what is truly is the first step. It was close but I thought his first step occurred before the double team and them he took two more steps...

I cant complain about the end. Ky made the play.
The biggest problem was the reffing late. They give ky 2 gift chances on bullshite calls and allow Job to get mugged with nothing. That just sucked.

I agree and it's hard to tell exactly when he picks the ball up during that first step

Didn't they change that rule in the NBA pretty much allowing players to have 2 and a half steps now with the step you take while picking up the dribble?

I'm just saying in a non lsu game I wouldn't have expected that to be called traveling. Whether it is or not, that is rarely called by the refs these days

Think you right on this one but I hate the rule. I already think the offensive player has so many advantages already and the NBA has pretty much be a 1 on 1 offensive game.

Like I said despite ALL the questionable calls the game was there for LSU to take one made FT at the end of reg or a half way decent offensive set w/ 11 second in reg and they could have walked away from Rupp and be the first non ranked team to beat Kenucky at Rupp since 1989....

He dribbled during the first steps... Watched it about 5 times to see what everyone was bitching about
Just saw it again. No way they were gonna cal that. That happens all the time. He's picking up his dribble during 1 step then takes his 2 long steps, it may look like he traveled but they haven't call that traveling in 10 years

Anybody who wants to bitch about that play can go watch the game recap highlights on ESPN. Dribble, two steps, jump, blocked...end of story.

I have given up on basketball. I have endured refs calling fouls on the defense everytime there is contact even if they weren't responsible for the contact.

Now with the new rules it is past the breaking point for me. I went to my last basketball game last season. This season has been the straw that broke the camels back for me.

I will pull for LSU but I won't even bother to watch anymore.

If the refs in game X were paid off you would never be able to tell because they suck so bad in every single game that is played that you can't tell if they are cheating or not. Very sad. I give.
