Mealey was a notch below the goats like faulk and fournette but was quite good. He had limited opportunities but always showed up strong.

A whole hell of a lot of backs would be third best in that group.

Like pick the top 5 year in and year out and some of them are third best in that group.

Hate for Facts to ruin a great lie, but Booty was FIRST TEAM ALL SEC !

Booty sucked balls and was a selfish me-first player. All SEC? Yeah, a bunch of dumbass Guilbeaus did vote him in, in spite of Booty having a rather poor season. Then he got benched in the Peach Bowl down 14-3 against Georgia Tech. Rohan came in and we destroyed them. BTW, our other big victory that year, OT against Tennessee, was Rohan.

he was all sec in a year with a league full of mediocre qbs, mediocre stats, he leveraged us against the Marlins for bonus money with no intentions of coming here, only came back when he flunked baseball, frick him

He was a very good chance of pace back. Slipped tackles well and did everything he was asked to do. He was like a 2005 Jacob Hester, wasn’t the best back on the team but did his job when his number was called. That’s all you could ask for

Rondell Mealey...how good was this guy?

Many LSU fans (myself included) felt that Mealey was just as good, if not better, running the ball than Faulk. However, Faulk was a lot more versatile and had the ability to break away at any minute. In two of the three years they played together, Mealey had better yards per carry. I looked forward to his senior year when he wasn't going to have to share the backfield with Faulk. Unfortunately, our bad o-line and even worse OC, Bob McConnell, would have other plans.

I had some classes with Mealey and Faulk. Mealey was a good dude and he certainly attended class more than Faulk. Faulk was a star and you'd never know he was in your class until test time. lol

Booty was crap and a terrible teammate. That was an historically bad year for QBs in the SEC.

Loved Rondell.

Wasn’t he the one who, in a post-game interview, said “We came out and played very LAXATIVE” or something to that affect??

I still chuckle every time I think of that.

Rondell was a good straight ahead in line runner. He played with Faulk and Cecil the diesel. Faulk has moves And speed. Cecil had power and speed.

Booty was a good qb. Had to put up with shite coaches in 1999. Did best he could. Bob McConnell a over rated WR coach was promoted to OC by retardo. Booty did fine against Bama
And moo u and other teams in 2000. Melt hater. Fn. Nimrod as always. Oh he got benched for UT game and was pulled in bowl
Game. Oh noz. Like QBs never make mistakes and get pulled.

Booty was a good qb.

49% completion and 24 TDs to 34 INTs is pretty bad.

Exactly. Screw the OP...I'm not even 40 and remember seeing Mealey tear it up.

Also, just watched the Cecil Collins Auburn game highlights. What a beast.

Absolutely….

I was reading all the posts before I posted this.

Has to be one of the best quotes of all time!

He definitely said “laxative”!
