If Missouri is ever added to the west, they should weld that state to the top and award it to the overall winner in games between LSU, Ark, and Mizzou. Call it The Stripper Boot.

that's pretty good

Oh, this is definitely correct. However, LSU needs to start taking them seriously, cause they give us hell every fn year.

Why are people so obsessed with "rivalry"? I see fans of other SEC schools on the SEC Rant regularly mocking LSU because we don't have a true "rival".

So what? What's the big deal?

As far as Arkansas, I don't have any special dislike for them.

I absolutely cannot stand Florida, Alabama, or Auburn. Does that make those schools my rival?

I really liked the Friday-after-Thanksgiving games. Year in, year out, it was my favorite game of the season. To me, LSU vs. Arkansas is a quintessential Southern football game.

It seems that I am very much in the minority in feeling that way. I've always disliked the attitudes of superiority about Arkansas. When you look at the talent disparity between the two programs, and then the way Arkansas has performed -- the way I see it, the Hogs deserve a lot of respect. The Razorbacks beat 2007-LSU in Baton Rouge. Since 2007, the series is tied 4-4. Since 1992, the series record is 14-9 (LSU).

Some history. Back in the mid-1960s Texas (HC Darryl Royal) and Arkansas (HC Frank Broyles) were football giants in the NCAA (like Florida/FSU/Miami used to be). I think it was 1964, LSU (7-3), HC Cholly Mac, was picked by Cotton Bowl to play #2 ranked SW Conference Arkansas (they had an unbeaten string of 22 straight games). The Piggies were all rabid and ready to add LSU to their win list. But at the end of the game LSU won by I think 14-7 and ruined Arky's 2nd perfect season and bid for MNC. I don't think they ever forgave or forgot.

Not saying that the aTm rivalry is on the same level as the Ole Piss or Bama game but it feels more natural than Arkansas.

Arkansas' winning percentage vs. LSU is better than LSU's winning percentage vs. Alabama.

Arky fans really hate LSU, for some unknown reason.

Maybe it's your incessant need to make yourself feel superior by having this "Arkansas isn't our rival" conversation all of the time. Especially, when you constantly claim that Arkansas looks at LSU like a rival, and that LSU is the Razorbacks' Super Bowl. No matter how many times, or evidence presented, you are told otherwise by Arkansas fans.

Arkansas-Texas Rivalry
--------------------
Quote: Razorbacks senior right tackle Brey Cook, from Springdale, Arkansas, left little doubt about his thoughts about facing Texas.

"I never dreamed of the NFL growing up," Cook tweeted. "I dreamt of playing Texas. In Texas. As a Razorback."
--------------------
I've realized that LSU does not have a rival, but they desperately desire a rival. If you had a rival, you would KNOW it. Ask Bama. Ask Ohio State. Ask Miami. Ask USC.

Alabama is a much more impressive program than LSU, historically and presently, and they are not Arkansas' UNIVERSAL rival. Still Texas. For next year's football season, if Razorback fans had to choose a victory over either Alabama or LSU, but not both, the VAST majority would pick Alabama. That SERIOUSLY means you are NOT our rival.

Now, maybe some dislike stems from your Yankee coach. He moves to a state with a rich French heritage, and then like an uneducated fool mocks the same French heritage by mispronouncing Arkansas as Ar-Kansas. This from someone who is representing an institution of higher learning. Even more pathetic is tricking SOME of the less educated LSU fans to do the same...ironically while holding a "Geaux Tigers" sign.

Disclaimer: I'm glad Les Miles is the LSU coach, and I want him to stay around for many years to come. I'm a realist, and I realize that Louisiana is a hot bed for talent. Each year Arkansas produces very small numbers of Division 1 talent. With the talent that LSU receives, the Tigers should be competing for National Championships every year. Coach Miles is Arkansas' best weapon for potential victory. <<< Just being honest.

You spend a significant amount of time on this board protesting an obsession with LSU. How much time do you spend with your major rival, Texas?

I agree with you 100 percent on this count.

I firmly believe that every team in the SEC wants Les Miles to coach another 20 years at LSU.

As for the rest of your post, Miles was an idiot for mispronouncing your state's name. I don't agree with the few LSU fans who disrespect Arky. Finally, the Arky dislike for LSU doesn't stem from this disrespect. I'm not sure what it is, but that's not it.

Could be that many Hog fans just really hate all other teams, LSU included.

Finally, Geaux Tigers is harmless. How could any fan for another school get upset over Geaux Tigers?

I hate Arkansas more than Texas A&M.

The Aggies feels like a forced rivalry and is mainly one sided right now from them.

It's a made for TV rivalry with a stupid boot. Arkansas and LSU are not historic rivals and I personally don't care about beating Arkansas any more than I do any other team on the schedule. LSU rivals are (1)BAMA (2)Auburn(3)Florida(4)Ole Miss
