No Alabama and Florida is not LSU rivals...

LSU fans that are not older than 30 need to research there schools history... badly

I'm talking about modern rivals. I don't consider Ole Miss to be that big of a LSU rival for people under the age of 50.

No such thing as a modern rival.

Completely disagree. If you are over the age of 50 it's Ole Miss. If you are younger than 50 it was Auburn for the longest time but Saban going to BAMA changed that. 70% of the fan base doesn't even remember LSU and Ole Miss being a rivalry game that meant something every year.

Rivals don't jump around with age and winning streaks... your schools history is its history and no fan bases opinion changes that or a coach going somewhere else. HAHAHA. Its tradition, rooted in the stadiums and locker rooms history. Ya'll should not be trying to change or ruin that.

So I guess Tulane is a big LSU rival? Because they were decades ago.

Yes Tulane is and LSU rival, than can never be removed or changed.

Does it still exist in the other sports in which ya'll play?

Finally, Geaux Tigers is harmless. How could any fan for another school get upset over Geaux Tigers?

I think "Geaux Tigers" is awesome. I was just using it to show the irony of mocking our shared French heritage on one hand, and then cheering on the Tigers with the French inspired "geaux".

You spend a significant amount of time on this board protesting an obsession with LSU. How much time do you spend with your major rival, Texas?

Two part answer:
1. LSU is my second favorite team! That probably will come as a surprise to most. LSU Medical saved my son's life when he was 2.5 years old. The Purple & Gold means a lot to my family.

2. I will NEVER visit a Texas Longhorn board. Trust me, they KNOW we do not like them! I would rather slam my pec__r in a sliding glass door.

** You know, it would be fun to have that kind of rivalry feeling each year like we had with Texas. Sadly, we just haven't found an SEC team to take their place.

When the Hogs play Alabama in any sport, I will yell out a loud and thunderous GEAUX ARKANSAS -- RAZORBACKS!

TOUCHDOWN ARKANSAS! OH MY !

mispronouncing Arkansas as Ar-Kansas.

He pronounces it that way because he lived in Oklahoma for years as a coach, and while there he lived near the Arkansas River. That river is, in fact, pronounced Ar-kansas by the locals. Who's to say which pronunciation of the word is correct?

Champagne, appreciate it very much. Paul Eells meant so much to the Razorback program. I can still hear him making those calls.

Are you trying to imply that he somehow grew up in America without learning how to pronounce the 50 states? The Arkansas General Assembly is who stated the correct way to pronounce the state name.

Arkansas is the 25th state, and preceded Kansas (#34) by 25 years. They got it wrong...it's pronounced "Kansaw".

Arkansans, namely Darren McFadden.

Miles didn't have the chest to pronounce it correctly.

Here's my take:

Historically, the good rivalries go back 50-100+ years.

The LSU/Arkansas rivalry was still in its infancy. 20 consecutive years of playing thanksgiving weekend.

And it was killed by A&M's butthurt over Texas and SEC re-scheduling. In 30 years I think it could have developed into a great rivalry. But it was killed in its infancy.
