He got fired from Nebraska after going 9-3 in 2003. The Cornhuskers wanted more, but they got an NFL coach named Bill Callahan.
Now that Pelini is there, they are starting to get a little respect again...finally.

Miles made a horrific coaching call, and he deserves criticism. However, as we have seen the stats posted here "The Hat" has a great record. Not to meniton we still have a chance to win 10 games.

Miles shouldn't have to learn this lesson the hard way, but he has. You all can be upset, I know I am. But let's be a little realistic. We will not win a championship every year.

That people can still have this point of view baffles me.

IT'S MORE THAN THE DEBACLE YESTERDAY.

Yesterday was just the culmination of the same type of shite Miles has been doing year in and year out over and over and over again and in the past we've been good enough to overcome the screw ups. Now, we aren't.

Everyone is well aware we won't win championships every year but the product on the field is not nearly good enough.

Winning bowl games?

Yes, he has made bad moves here and there, but so has every other coach in NCAAF and the NFL. Do you fire Bellichek for going for it on 4th down last week? And for losing the superbowl last year?

We face tough competition each week we play an SEC team. Sometimes we lose.

I agree. Not the same. I think it would be safe to take our chances.

Breaking news - we're not Nebraska. We actually have talent in our own state.

We just need someone who can coach.

The school recruits itself.

yesterday was simply the tip of the iceberg, a lot of us have seen this for 5 years, this was simply the one time that DIRECTLY cost us a game, so all of the blind followers are now seeing it, there are still those like you though that still choose to make excuses for the man

Remember Ron Zook? He went 9-3 and got fired. UF then got a guy who lead them to NCs and could easily lead them to a third.

Remember Mike Shula? He was one season away from a 7(or 8) and 0 start(Which JR ended) and he got fired. They replaced him with a guy who will likely lead them to back to back undefeated regular seasons.

I can keep going.

I think everyone agrees that Miles can't get the job done but what IF we did get a worse coach and shite really went downhill? Everyone says LA has talent but that talent will look elsewhere if we really tank.

THAT WAS THE RIGHT CALL! Statistical data backs it up.

To teams with greatly inferior talent. Glad this is all I can ever hope for as an LSU fan. Peach Bowls AHOY!!!!!

Very similar in that many fans would like an NFL er and that taking a chance with LSU's program. No the answer is to buy another major programs coach. The talent is already at LSU and immediate results could be achieved.

all good points. I think the Frank Solich comparison is very pertinent. You usually don't miss what you have untill it's gone. Anyway to me it looks like we are poised to have a breakout season once again next season.
