Can't blame anyone for leaving early while enduring satans armpit yesterday.. I could feel my skin cooking before I lathered up with more sun screen.. the no breeze was gods way of testing us and If I'd not had access to A/C, I would've failed as well..

I gave up my seat in the north endzone so my daughter and grand daughter could go. It was miserably hot and the concession stand ran out of water in the first quarter! They made it to half time but the kids could not take it. They showed a shot of temp in the shade (80) and in the sun (almost 100). It was worse in the stands.

There were fewer empty seats in the 4th quarter than the 2nd quarter. Go figure.

I saw people walking out in the 1st quarter and Im thinking, "Ok, this is the emptying-out of Tiger Stadium everyone in the Rant is always complaining about". So I get up to get a drink at the concession stand and I discovered where all the "bandwagon" fans went. It was Mardi Gras on Bourbon St. on the concourse. People were being carted out by medical staff. It was the hottest Ive ever been at any entertainment event save for a couple Jazz Fests.

We were in the NE endzone. I was in shorts, a t-shirt, ankle socks, no hat, short hair and perfectly still and I was still dripping with sweat.

We need to find a way to get out of those 2:30 games. Kills the attendance on the east side and I don't blame those people. At least until November, our games should all be at night. I wish we had more control over that.

We have a terrible fanbase that wilts at the first hint of adversity. Doesn't matter because I went to the game and enjoyed myself.

this game was hot, but not the hottest i’ve seen.

this one is probably just behind ‘15 Auburn.

but both are behind ‘08 App St.
that game was at like 10:30 am last weekend of August. the day before a Hurricane.

was buying them $8 waters just to pour them over my kids heads that day.
fricking brutal

If I'm being honest, I didn't see anyone leave the upper West even though we were getting crushed early and it was hot as hell. The only people I saw leave were some Auburn fans when it was 23-21 and we were driving. I'm serious. I was kind of proud of the LSU fans yesterday that did show.

If that.

But however many were left in the 4th, they were VERY loud. The crowd noise was having a palpable effect on Auburn's offense; they couldn't handle it. Cheers to the crowd for having an impact.

I was in the west upper as well and I agree that most stayed until the end. I felt sorry for the folks in the east upper...that looked like a damn oven.

As in top 25 programs?
yes. you can read articles about attendance problems from all over the country. everyone is dealing with it. that crowd yesterday was exceptional by current standards. many, many people stayed the entire game despite the score, the heat and the time of day (which is not the norm for an lsu game). i was quite impressed given what is going on around the country
