The Aggies spread the field and have good WR and QB play but yet in their last 6 games they offensive outings of 7, 10, and 3 including 25 against Vanderbilt.

will spreading the field 3 and 4 wide REALLY make this offense more productive?

A&M is worse than we are when it comes to productivity from players. 2012 was pretty special for them, but since then, I do not think they've finished but in the top 4 once.

And to answer your question, when Harris fully develops, we will see another Hill/Beckham-like combo -- even better -- in Fournette and Dupree. Right now, we cannot do that like we want. O Line must also develop. You cannot just throw 4-5 WR's on the field and think you are going to run the scoreboard out of batteries.

Next years offense will be better than 2013 if Harris comes along.

We have looked pretty good when spreading out defenses...lots of offenses try to get their playmakers the ball in space.

I would settle for baby steps at this point...a few end arounds or wr screens to spread the defenses

No. Implementing a more robust offensive attack should be the goal.

Utilize mis-direction. Use pitch plays. Use the reverse. Throw slants, ins and outs. Hooks. Etc.

So the choice is TAMU offense OR LSU offense?

There's nothing else?

It doesn't matter what you do as long as you are well coached, have guys that fit the system and can execute the offense, and keep defenses off balanced. There is no magic offense; only great execution. From everything to the wing T to empty backfield

A&M is horrible at running the ball. They have no balance.
Saints throw a lot but haven't been anything like they were since 2009 SuperBowl run.
Saints averaged around 140 yds a game that year.

A&M used Manzeil to get rushing yards they'll try to do the same with Murray

When QB turns and pitches the ball to the tailback 7 yds deep, 11 defensive players know where,s the ball and they have 7 yards to react before he gets to line of scrimmage. As long as the QB has the ball in his hands, 11 defensive players can't react to RB's movement because the QB can keep, run himself or throw. That provides some delay in reaction (deception) and opens up holes for RB's. When you have 3 wide outs that leaves 8 def players to defend line of scrimmage. With safety's & line backers following a elite running back and crowding the line of scrimmage, the tight end would be wide open and WR will have man-man coverage. But as a previous poster said...off line needs much improvement.

it should never take until a quarterback is a senior before he is fully developed, and in BH case, I wouldn't bet a dime that he'll be much better than he is by the time he's' a senior if no changes are made on that staff. BH either has a learning problem, or the coaches have a teaching problem. I don't think Cam is the coach that should be trying to develop young quarterbacks. Seems he needs them developed by the time he gets them.

it's about having a balanced offense.. not relying on one thing..

it's about exploiting the weaknesses of the defense you are presently playing.. PERIOD.

LSU has the talent to rush over inferior opponents, and they have the talent when needed to pass on equally talented opponents.. they just need to build a confidence and trust in the playmakers to make plays..

period..

No. Balance is the ONLY solution. Stay away from the extremes.

it's like gary danielson said..

balance isn't running 25 pass plays 25 rushing plays..

it's about exploiting the defense's weaknesses.. whatever that may be..

balance is having the ability to do both when needed and trusting in your offense.

Air Raid coaches say balance is distributing the ball to every WR making the defense defend the entire field.
