The stolen gun was under a front seat and there were four in the car. So who owns it? That's the whole deal with the da not charging anyone. The other thing was probable cause to search wasn't clearly evident since both the pot and stolen gun were found during the search.
the question is - who was the car registered to and who was sitting behind the wheel?

Saban is on tilt now. This shite is in his head. If the season implodes on him, it will be a beautiful thing to watch.

He usually keeps it under better control. If it's already bothering him in the dead of summer, wait until he gets needled about it every week through the season. Especially if the media recognizes it's getting to him and they stop letting him intimidate them.

At this point, as Hillary would say, what difference does it make.

2 guns which were probably planted by LSU fans, at least, that's what lil' nickie would say.

Saban is winning this thing where it matters, most: with past, current and more importantly, FUTURE players. They are loving him for taking up for his players. Nobody remembers the kids that commit, only to have the scholarship pulled days before signing day, or the kid who didn't progress enough and didn't have his scholarship renewed, but they remember THIS.

Let's hope he's more disturbed and upset after the November game in Baton Rouge. Sure he's scored some points with players, but he's also proven what an intimidating jerk he is with the media. He thinks he's above scrutiny.

A Bama player was left home for last years bowl game for less than this, but he cares only about winning and these starters could impact that. That's the story. Would they have been kicked off the team if there were 3rd string freshman. Likely they would have to prove a point. That's the real story.

If I was the cop who arrested the pair I would get a lawyer and sue Saban for public slander and defamation of character

Correct me if I am wrong, I am working with info I learned in a Business Law class in college BUT:

The problem with defamation and slander is that you A) have to prove that what was said is a lie and B) you have to show how the wrongful info that was said has hurt your ability to earn a living.

Not saying these things can't be proven, just saying its not as easy of a lawsuit as it seems.

or I could be dead wrong and talking out my arse

A stolen gun and pot in a car driven by a Bama player and Nick is worried about what school the arresting officer might be a fan of???

talk about not being able to see the forest for the trees!

The other two were two Cuban agents secretly hired by Les Miles. The agent coerced the nefarious Gumps to drive to a park after midnight with a stolen gun and drugs that were planted. Do you think that trip to Cuba was to watch baseball? Hell no. He was setting up Phase B of the Ole Miss scandal. Les is the most interesting man in the world. He is The Invisible Hand.

If I remember reading correctly... didn't Monroe PD take DNA on the gun to see who it matches to? I thought that odd but a good practice if you're trying to prove something like that. Seeing as how results take a while to come back, sounds like the DA made his decision (or took his pay off) before all the evidence is back.

If it's true they took DNA

Truth is, the gun was concealed. The weed was probably smelt by the police. Question, did cops have permission to search vehicle? I don't think we really know and my guess is the cops probably messed up on procedure here. The DA did everyone a disservice by dismissing the case on those ridiculous grounds.

Saban is an assclown, but he's not entirely wrong either from a legal perspective.
