I don't think the loss is huge. Knowledge wise yes. Skill wise no. I definitely feel bad for him because he has been waiting for this moment to start for so long and it seems it is gone. He can and hope he comes back strong.

Knowledge wise: Probably knows playbook better than any other DL. That will hurt during the first half of the season but our opposition(apart from Wisconsin) is very weak so we will manage and the young DTs can afford to have a learning process.

Skill wise: There is a reason he has not played 11 games the last four years. Not the greatest skill level. I think all the other guys may have a greater skill level (especially Herron, Bain & Gilmore)and hope they can work even harder to take this opportunity to start head on!

Wow, feel really awful for QT - but I don't think it will hurt the team too bad. I'm guessing LaCouture has one spot locked up, so now it's time for Herron and

Serious question....how do you tear a biceps at practice? Does the biceps get hyperextended somehow? I could see how it could happen during heavy weight lifting but I was wondering how you tear a biceps during practice.

Even more puzzling is tearing a pectoral muscle.

Hopefully someone else can step up, but DT depth is mediocre. Teams may be able to run up the middle on the D this year.
Well it sure is a great thing that we get to find out if that's true right before we play one of the best backs in the country!

Motherfricker. The one position on D LSU couldn't afford an injury at was DT.

What are the odds that a current (Thomas) and a former (Dorsey) LSU DT both tear their biceps before the season even starts?

That's why you can never have too much talent on the roster. Next man up.

Just in time for Melvin Gordon...
Forgot to add...more importantly, I feel for him. It's important to rest muscles so they don't end up overworked. I hope he recovers faster than people think.

Well we in the same boat as last year, except this year we don't have any proven leaders on offense. Don't get your hopes up too high. This sucks.

This season has NOTHING in common with last season, at least on D. Last year we had inexperienced players starting at every position except DT. This year it's the exact opposite of that. The D will be improved no matter how the DTs play.

No DT depth is what cost us Georgia and Alabama

I'm pretty sure there was a bit more to it than that. I don't think a couple more DTs were going to win the Bama game and the DBs had way too many busted plays against UGA.

So you think 3 guys who as freshman didn't play a SINGLE snap will be more valuable than a guy who has contributed significantly the last two years? Oh....ok.

Exactly. Plenty of camp left to see who has what though, and pray TV has been running.
