Fine, he contributed more than any other DT on the team.

Seriously, the three young guys didn't even get a series against the shitty team we played last year. Does that not say a ton about what the coaches think about them?

The majority of freshman lineman get redshirted because they are not ready to be in the trenches physically their first year. That happens everywhere, not just here. These guys are all highly touted and it's their time to grow up and grow up fast

why on earth would the coaches burn redshirts for clean up duty?

and another reason is check their weight last year vs this year...

When's the last time a redshirt meant anything around here?

Wishing and praying for QT that he has full recovery.

Team mates need to get his back.

time to dust off the LSU express!

I actually forgot about that. Wasn't that 2008 co-DC's idea? It was the only way to generate a pass rush that year.

So you think 3 guys who as freshman didn't play a SINGLE snap will be more valuable than a guy who has contributed significantly the last two years? Oh....ok.
Well isn't that the same thing people are saying with Fournette? Just saying...

Redshirts at a school like LSU are a waste. Players will be gone when eligible, this trend isn't going to stop. No reason to think these guys are going to hang around for 5 years anymore. The only legit reason is injury.

They redshirted because all 3 had to get their bodies in shape.

Herron had to add weight plus learn a new position, Gilmore was out of shape and Bain was very raw, hell he played OL in high school.

and mickey JOhnson. Anyone else that could possibly be moved to DT? Plus Valentine and Godcheaux as true freshman. Maybe one of them can make the same impact that Locoture made as a true freshman. Maybe Godcheaux.

If the d-line can't get it done, maybe we move to s 3-4 defense? We've got lots a great linebackers. Doesn't Bama run a 3-4? It might be a good option, if not too late to learn.
